For the best experience I don't prescribe "settling" anything. Its not broken and steam refreshes calm regularly to enhance client experience and iron out bugs, blunders or security issues. On the off chance that you turn off updates then you risk crashes, loss of information or perhaps a traded off record because of obsolete security.
