I was very ignorant of the various elements of heavy metal music until a friend was able to explain to me just what all the 'loud' sound was about and that there was a lot more to it if I really listened to it. I hope to find out more about EDM from your future posts :)
It's interesting that you mention heavy metal music, because I've noticed since I've been back in the EDM scene that for whatever reason a lot of heavy metal/rock culture is seeping into the EDM culture. Headbanging, for one. Mosh pits, as well. It fascinates me that even some rock artists are venturing into EDM stuff too.
