Ask The Creator - Today with @creacioneslelys

Authored by @elizacheng

DIYHub is a curation initiative aiming to support creators who love crafting, making things from scratch, home & gardening. We have many passionate and talented creators who love sharing their projects and works with us.

This new series is all about these awesome creators. We will have them sharing their experiences in their journey, how they started to get involved with what they love to do now, what are the challenges they face and how they overcome those challenges. And maybe share some tips so we can learn together.

If you have any questions you would like to ask upcoming creators, you are also welcome to drop us a comment here under this post or in our Discord.

How to get featured in one of our upcoming interviews?

  1. Post your creations in the DIYHUB community on HIVE!
  2. Drop us a comment here at this post or you can join our Discord and get in touch with us there.
  3. Make sure to also recommend your friends and artists you follow here on HIVE!

Please welcome our featured creator, @creacioneslelys. Lelys has a pairs of skillful hands. Cloth, thread and needles are her friends. You can check out her blog to see all her beautiful creations.

1. Please introduce yourself with a few sentences.

I am Lelys, Venezuelan nationality. I am a teacher by profession, mother and artisan.

2. Please explain what your craft means to you.

Being a craftswoman means to me peace, concentration, learning, ability, tranquility. Crafts and handicrafts in general is the best therapy I have achieved.

3. What or who inspire you to start crafting?

I inherited my passion for weaving from my maternal aunts, they have been my example to follow and my motivation. I learned to create, recycle and design from unused raw materials from my students. It is incredible all that I have been able to see during school activities, as well as from the teachers and my fellow teachers. Being in this educational environment has kept me motivated to continue creating.

4. Have you ever thought of giving up crafting?

I have not thought about leaving the craft, maybe someday my hands will no longer have the strength to make some projects, but for my part I will be creating until God allows me to do so.

5. In which communities do you post and why (except DIYHub)?

You can see my creations published in #needleworkmonday, #hivediy, #buildit and #jewelry. I post there because they are the niche communities for this type of content. Most of my publications are about crafts, I like to show the result of my creations, share the step by step and sometimes tell the mishaps or anecdotes experienced during the execution of a project.

6. What kind of other content do you enjoy the most on Hive and why?

Although my content is mostly based on creating, I like to consume varied content; about crafts, handicrafts, crochet, travel, literature, cooking recipes and others. I really enjoy wandering through the communities, meeting new users, in short, I like a little bit of everything.

7. Please name three users who inspired you during your journey in Hive.

In HIVE there are many people who inspire us. I have felt very motivated reading the posts of @jennyzer, @yolimarag and @carolinacardoza. All three are excellent creators of content related to what I like to do.

8. What is your advise to others who would want to start their crafting journey?

My advice for those people who want to start with this beautiful craft is to seize the desire and create, use the materials you have at your fingertips. Never limit yourself by what you lack or what you would like to have to start. Do it now if you wish, there is a lot of raw material in our environment.

Here's some of Lelys's beautiful creations.

Hello friends creators, community administrators and hivers in general. It gives me great pleasure to read this publication in which my performance as a content creator is mentioned, it will always be a pleasure to share my experiences, knowledge and anecdotes related to the work I do.

Thank you for creating a special session to highlight the authors. I'm sure that the list of upcoming highlights is quite long since in HIVE we can enjoy very good manual works, recycling, DIY, crafts and others related to the community niche.

Keep going, in #diyhub I found the ideal space to show my creations from my beginnings in the blockchain. I wish success and prosperity to all who make life here.

Merry Christmas!

I like your suggestion; I have never tried crafting before but after coming to Diyhub I am trying paper crafting a little bit. I will also try to keep your suggestions in mind. thank you

The friend @creacioneslelys is a creator of conscience, who loves the art of crafts and I know that each one does it with love, because her pieces reveal it in each one of them, always giving the best of themselves, a hug friend that creativity always valla increasing, continue with your great work. Honored by your words, a big hug 🤗

Hello 🙋 thank you very much for your words. They represent a commitment to continue learning and improving my works. A big hug.

Friend, after my interview came out today, I started to investigate and I realized that some others had been published. I congratulate you for being among the interviewees, you do a great job and I congratulate you, I love what you do, although sometimes one would like to comment and visit everything we like and for lack of time does not do it.

I think there should be a way to give more reach to these beautiful interviews that you are doing, so that many see them, they are getting lost and are not reflected as outstanding publications, don't you think so?

I'm really glad you are here....

Late but present 💕

May the successes continue for you, many blessings @creacioneslelys

How nice to see you in that interview and to know a little more about the person I have admired for a long time.

Thanks for leaving your feedback.
