Ask The Creator - Today with @virgilio07

in #diyhublast year (edited)
Authored by @elizacheng

DIYHub is a curation initiative aiming to support creators who love crafting, making things from scratch, home & gardening. We have many passionate and talented creators who love sharing their projects and works with us.

This new series is all about these awesome creators. We will have them sharing with us their experiences in their journey, how they started to get involve with what they are doing now, what are the challenges they face and how they overcome those challenges. And maybe share some tips so we can learn together.

If you have any questions you would like to ask our creators, you are also welcome to drop us a comment here at this post or in our Discord.

How to get featured in one of our upcoming interviews?

  1. Post your creations in the DIYHUB community on HIVE!
  2. Drop us a comment here at this post or you can join our Discord and get in touch with us there. You can recommend yourself or your friends.

Please welcome our featured creator @virgilio07. A creative father, using his skill and talent to make learning fun for his little boy. On top of that, he sometimes shares his repairing experience and gardening activities too. Without further ado, let's get straight into the interview.

1. Please introduce yourself with a few sentences.

Hello my name is Virgilio and my user is @virgilio07, I am from Venezuela and father of a little boy.

I have been in the hive for more than a year and it has been a great experience and constant learning.

2. Please explain what your craft means to you.

It is very important because it means personal growth and development of my skills and talents that sometimes I did not know and thought I was not able to do it. But thanks to God and Hive I constantly challenge myself and I am surprised by what I have been able to do, which is very satisfying for me and for my little boy who sometimes accompanies me.

3. What or who inspire you to start crafting?

When my son started school he was sent to do certain creative projects and from there I started to make crafts to help him in his activities.

4. Have you ever thought of giving up crafting?

Nooo, on the contrary, every day I want to perfect more the art that God has given me and to be able to share my skills and talents to leave a trace of the gift given by the Creator.

5. In which communities do you post and why (except DIYHub)?

Pinmapple, Homeedders and Plantpower

In pinmapple because I like photography although I am not a professional, I also like to highlight the beautiful places and landscapes of my country, I hope one day to be able to travel all over my country.

In homeedders I do school activities with my son to reinforce his learning at home, using fun strategies such as: puzzles, board games and outdoor activities.

Plantpower, I have always liked to prepare smoothies and combine fruits in search of new flavors and promote healthy eating in my little one.

6. What kind of other content do you enjoy the most on Hive and why?

Photography and food, photography allows me to make a virtual journey through different parts of the planet and food, because I can appreciate the gastronomy of different countries, as well as the names of foods that may vary from one region to another.

7. Please name three users who inspired you during your journey in Hive.

@ksmith7
@artsugar
@emansitticoof

8. What is your advise to others who would want to start their crafting journey?

The first thing is to organize the ideas, at the time of creating many ideas of what we want to do arise. That is why it is very important to be clear about the final product we want and which techniques will be used to achieve it. It is also important to have the resources we will use to avoid setbacks.

In addition, to have an adequate space that allows us to work comfortably.

It is important to make a note of the ideas that come up and then develop them, because as a proverb says: The weakest ink is better than the best memory.
