FI$H episode playlist

Someone here on Hive, I think (sorry, but I've forgotten whom it was and where it was, but I think it was here on Hive), someone here on Hive recently made mention of Harry Hazlitt's classic book on economics, Economics in One Lesson (Wikipedia, ebook). It's incredible, not only in explaining economics (in one lesson), but in explaining a whole lot about life...why people do what they do.

The book title and that last statement may seem like an overreach, but, I think it is not.

The back-and-forth reminded me of a cartoon series I recommended a year or two back. The series is called FI$H: How an Economy Grows. It's set on an island (economists love islands) and it's awesome. There are 10 episodes and 10 commentaries by economist Prof. Antony Davies. He's kinda big-time (as far as economists go), and is frequently on the big-news networks.

FI$H looks like a kids series. It's not. It hits at several of the essential tenets of economics and Economics in One Lesson. (And why people do what they do.) I'd encourage anyone to watch it. It's entertaining, and you'll learn.

Anyhoo, it occurred to me that, although I'd link all the episodes in serial format, I had not followed up with a playlist of all episodes. So, here it is:

Hazlett’s Economics in One Lesson is a must read. I facilitated a book study on it here at Oklahoma State University a few years ago.

We also had Dr. Antony Davies on campus in 2021, speaking to our students about Cooperation and Coercion.

Here’s a link to his talk: https://channels.insideosu.com/media/1_w2agim02

Also, here’s a four-minute video on 3Speak of Dr. Davies explaining why minimum wage harms the people it’s meant to help: https://peakd.com/hive-150329/@trostparadox/zbewydzy

Thanks for those links. Very neat that you had Prof. Davies on campus. He gets it and can explain things in ways anyone can understand.

I haven't watched all these videos yet but I will definitely watch them at night when it's time to sleep and then I'll let you know how it goes.
