Foodie Blog #10: Eating Curry Buldak Bokkeummyeon | Curry Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen 🍜

in #food7 years ago

Hello Steemit Friends,

As you might know, I love spicy food. You may have heard or seen the “Spicy Noodle Challenge” on Youtube videos where people will eat a bowl (or two or three) of the spicy noodles and the reaction is painful, lots of tears and sweat! So…today for lunch, I’m tasting the curry flavored spicy noodles from Samyang Foods' Buldak Bokkeummyeon, originated from South Korea. Sorry, no video. I don’t think you want to see me suffering and dripping sweat.

WARNING: It’s going to be extremely spicy! Eat at your own risk! Let’s do this! 💪

The package comes with 5 packets and sell at any Asian markets or you can buy them on Amazon/Ebay. Here’s the back of the package and the instructions to prepare the (Stir-fry) dish.  ONE dish!

This is all the ingredients that goes into the dish. The square block noodle. The special spicy curry sauce and some dried vegetables of carrots and fried potatoes? I’m not really sure but the curry aroma releases from the sachet is mouth-watering.

This is how I prepare for the noodle dish: Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the noodles into the boiling water. Cook on high to medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until noodles are soft (try not to overcook the noodles for too long or you can try testing it to make sure the noodles are ready). While your noodles are cooking, open the sauce packet and dried seasonings into a bowl of your choice. Multitasking at its best!

Drain and remove the water from the noodles.  Finally, add the noodles and mix the ingredients together. I know you are suppose to ‘stir-fry’ the dish but I didn’t feel that it was necessary.  🤷

Finished! Added some barbeque pork, snowpeas and parsley with some side dishes – rice and kimchi. Don’ forget your water! How do they taste? Delicious, fire burning and I might regret later 😆 but still very delicious. You can taste the curry flavor and the noodles are super thick! The dried vegetables has a crunchy texture to it that brings the dish very well.  It is very spicy and the heat is tolerable (to me that is). I freaking love it!!!

If you love curry and ramen, then you’ll love this ramen dish.  Enjoy!
