Gamer Girls....
...love realistic game environments, with a recognizable protagonist of their own age (and their own gender). Animals and fantasy beings are also very popular. They appreciate games that allow free play, in which you can explore the area without direct goal. Another must is a good storyline and character development. With gametypes it are the puzzles, simulations and quests that do well among gamer girls. Girls seek out games in which they recognize female attributes: communication, friendships and relationships, styling and care.
Girls rarely regard themselves as 'gamers'; Gaming is not part of their identity. When the girls get older, playing games is often discarded for other forms of leisure activities.
Gamer Boys.....
...... are quite different. Boys love speed, violence and competition. They want to conquer obstacles and defeat stronger opponents. Their favorite characters are heroes, powerful, intelligent types. The women in the popular games are sexy.
When playing a game, males will often choose the trial and error strategy: just start and if it goes wrong go back and start again. Big boys, ( adult males) often have longer game sessions opposed to women who can more easily stop playing and have shorter game sessions.
