A Free Greenhouse For The Allotment.

Hi, guys I've been wanting to post for a while now, but due to family life and illness, it has made it hard to get an hour to write.

Back in August last year, I saw a post for a greenhouse, free to a good home, and I jumped at the chance to get it.

At the time I didn't really know how big it was, but when I saw it for the first time I fell in love, the greenhouse measures 20f long by 10f wide, so I've nicknamed it the Beast.

The greenhouse came with a few other things as well, 5 stainless steel tables, as many plant pots as I wanted to take, and loads of packets of unopened seeds, It was really something not to be missed.

I contacted the seller and asked if I could have it, there was one downside, I had to dismantle and take it away, but I like a challenge.

I went to get it armed with two 10mm spanners and a screwdriver and went to work taking it down.

I removed the glass first, then got to work on taking it apart, I wanted to take it in sections but with the size of this I had to flat pack just to get it out of the garden.

When I got it to my allotment I then had to find a place to put it, somewhere sunny, somewhere sheltered and I wanted it to be easily accessible. I decided that it would have to go at the bottom of the allotment as I knew there would be space, the only problem was my allotment site is on a slope.

I got my trust £50 mini tiller out with my generator and started removing the earth to make a flat surface for the greenhouse to sit on.

I even built a little retaining wall so I had a level to work from, it was so much fun, and once it was level as I was going to get it, I started to put the greenhouse back up.
This was the hardest part of it all, as I have no instructions on how it goes back up, and everything was in pieces.

But, after a full day of trying I managed to get it back up.

I then decided that I would leave the glass out of the frame until I had a floor, I had to choose what to do as I didn't want to be paying loads of money for it, I then found someone giving away slabs, and again I jumped at the chance to have them, this is the next bit to the project and hopefully the weather will stay dry so tomorrow I can get them laid.
