Bizarre PGA Incident

Absolutely Crazy

Yesterday morning before the second round of the PGA Championship at the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky saw world number 1 Scottie Scheffler arrested and placed in jail. He is literally the last person you would expect in trouble.

Anyone who has seen Scottie on television will know he is the straight laced Mr Cool and nothing seems to ruffle his feathers. If anything was going to put him of his game then surely being arrested and discharged having to change his tee times which he missed by a few hours. He finished his round after firing a 66 and remarkably is only 3 shots off the pace. How many other players could pull this off?

His arrest was over a misunderstanding not listening to the police who were redirecting traffic after a road accident outside the golf club entrance. He turned into a side entrance into the golf club and was stopped not before dragging a policeman holding on to his vehicle for a good 20 meters. Obviously the police had no idea who he was and what type of character he is and believe this incident has been blown out of proportion.

Yes he dragged a cop for a short distance, but there was no need for the cop to hang on. Arresting him is just nuts and not something you would have expected which also highlights how poor the police are in the the US. Where is the common sense because using a side road into the club is being smart getting out of the way and is hardly considered a crime.

A misunderstanding that has lead to a criminal record with charges of reckless driving, 2nd degree assault of a police officer add 3rd degree criminal mischief. The cops at the police station realised the situation and saw the misunderstanding seeing the funny side how the world number one ended up in jail.

How anyone could compete at this level a few hours after being arrested is remarkable and shows what type of big match temperament he has. To be able to put the morning chaos behind him and shoot such a low round is quite remarkable and would have shook most people.

I am sure this will all be resolved with a fine after a brief court appearance and that will be the end of that. The police over stepped their mark not knowing who they were arresting and it sounds like a hokey pokey town policeman had no clue. The police need to use their common sense which seems to be missing on most occasions and could be the caliber of individuals they hire being the biggest problem.
