Calm Prescence Filling Spaces Around You

Air plants and bromeliads, are simply a joy to see when in flower or simply hang around circulating clean air into the atmosphere. Bromeliads release oxygen and remove air pollutants at night making them a handy plant that requires little care or attention outside/inside a home.

The bromeliads of which I have many in pots, or in the garden soil directly, being water wise I seldom need to fuss, they do not enjoy much except the right spot to live in! Rosette clusters overlap forming a tank like feature on many of my larger varieties containing their own mechanism in holding dew, humidity or rain water.

Epiphytic varieties attached to trees, hung on walls, placed into logs here in our sub-tropical climate survive exceptionally well. Nature is fascinating in some creating pups to propagate themselves while others seed to carry on a species, all related to the pineapple family by what I have learned.

Watching them grow teaches patience, perseverance within ourselves simply nurturing, touching leaves lifts stress off ones shoulders. Gentle touch with other living things motivates our inner being, witnessing a kaleidoscope of colours in tropical vibrancy, makes it the conversation piece in any home or garden complementing whether minimalist or exotic.

Introducing more to the garden around me affords time to simply enjoy without spending hours tending to them, as age creeps up, time is often afforded to the pretty, using plants that are self-sustaining, advantage is more time to spend creation of herb garden or vegetables.

Bromeliads are ever green offering year-round robust garden with life around every corner, pet friendly one does not need to worry with animals around the home.

Bromeliads and air plants are distinctly different and desirable because of their striking foliage and unusual flowers. Both groups come from the same large family of plants known as Bromeliaceae, which includes pineapples and Spanish moss as well. Source

Gardens should bring joy, colour, surprise when capturing attention, pleasure feasting one's eyes on plants displaying variety of colour or texture in leaves, above are some found around the home, planted together when flowering surprises you into realizing you have another one of many varieties to pay attention to.

Time to relax enjoying the garden a happy Sunday, our days are still warm for this time of year enjoy your day!

Bromeliads Are kind of cactus flowers? Anyway, their colours were beautiful .

Cactus have spongy leaves that hold water sucked up through roots. Bromeliad have an "urn' shaped base shaped by leaves capturing water not relying on drawing water up from the earth.

Both offer beauty of their own, most my garden is mix of succulents, cactus, bromeliads and ferns.

Your post really sheds light on a lot of things with the photographs. Nowadays, people do not give much importance to trees and plants. He cuts trees for his own needs. You have presented it well here. If there are plants, there is clean air. And if there is clean air, then there is life. @joanstewart

Trouble is watching people buy a home, hardly in the house for a month when removing growth that has sometimes taken years to establish. Legally one can do nothing but advise against it.

Make people more aware about how reliant we are on nature around us it the best we can do. Buildings where people live more congested these plants are safe for children to grow up with inside the home, bringing a little nature in for child to learn their importance as well.

I just saw a video where a guy was spreading awareness about trees. In which he had a temperature measuring machine. You wouldn't believe that there was a temperature difference of about 4 to 5C between the trees and the open space. This is really something to mark. Temperatures are rising in India. At present, the temperature of some areas here comfortably reaches up to 40C. This matter is really noteworthy. He also used to say that it takes 4 to 5 years for a tree to grow, so when we grow so many trees, the temperature here will come down. That too after 5 years.. @joanstewart

Many regions here are stripping out trees to grow indigenous, water wise plants wherever you able. Currently heading into Winter at 30 deg C today which is warm for this time of year.

Couple of years ago I went through series Nature is Speaking the more we learn to respect nature, plant suitable, we will make a massive difference to what we see around us today.

Your point is true and understandable. If everyone thinks like this then there is no need to think to save nature because everyone will give their time for nature. That's all there is to do.

Leave nature to run her own course across the lands it will stabilize, we need her more than she needs us.

This is also true. We think that we are saving nature, but the fact is that nature is saving us.

It's always great fun to behold a garden as vibrant as yours, the language of Nature is calming and the lessons, soothing.
Your Air plants and bromeliads are really so beautiful.

Water wise plants in Africa are what we need, dry regions simply need a spray once a week, beauty is always rewarding to have around.

Never seen those kind of plants before

Not living tropical or sub-tropical you may only find them indoors in offices or homes.

With such happy flowers, Sunday will automatically become happy. 😊

Flowers bring joy everyday, thanks for the greetings and visit.

Such beautiful flowers. Having them around surely makes your surrounding happy and alive. Plus the clean and fresh air♥️.

Flowers always bring a little extra, if friendly within apartment buildings or small accommodation one can never do without them.

If given a chance I would also love to grow those lovely flowers at home.

Very easy to care for, look around you may find some, they are popular in most countries today.

Thank you.♥️

I thought that it is the pineapple flower, or the tip of the pineapple.
so nice that you have so many flower around the house, as they can give you visual entertainment.

Pineapple belongs in the same plant family which is large, many to select to grow both indoors or outdoors making them popular. Thanks for visiting and token of appreciation.

How beautiful what you do with those crops. I understand that there is a lot of variety and there are those who collect them. Yes, a garden must be able to capture the eye and fill with joy those who contemplate it, and I believe that jokes

Depending on the climate these are relatively easy plants to keep satisfied.

Thanks for visiting and kind comment.

I love the blooms that are purple and pink, I have some of the others like the big pink bloomed one but I have never seen one like the next to last picture.

Matchstick bromeliad is native to Argentina and Brazil, make a special display in pots where they spread and fill.

Thank you for the name, I will try to find one, but have never seen them in a plant nursery here

Enjoy when you do find, really an easy plant to enjoy in the home or outside.

I love the plants you have in your garden @joanstewart
The flowers are really beautiful

These plants are from Argentina and Brazil region mainly, should grow very happy in the region you live.

I love plants Sir @joanstewart and I appreciated so much on how you captured and explained the plants in your blog Sir.It is very informative.

All plants assist health wise, mental stability or in medicinal purposes, worth learning more about what thrives in your region.

I would like to ask an apology for calling you a Sir Ma'am @joanstewart I misread your name Ma'am. I thought it is John. God bless Ma'am

Not from younger WOKE generation know what I am, small errors in addressing a person don't bother me at all.

Only thing I take extreme discomfort in is children referred to to kids, they are not small goats.... 🙃

Enjoy your beautiful garden. Here in Cuba there are some types of Bromeliads. Sorry for the delay in passing by and recreating myself with such beautiful plants. Best regards. Have a nice weekend.🥰😀

Thanks for visiting and have a great day, yes tropical or sub-tropical Americas is where most originated from.

I absolutely agree with you about a garden that is fuss-free but still provides a lot of colour. We are so blessed to be able to do that here.
I enjoy pottering in my little herb garden which is planted in a raised bed, no strain on my old back ;)
We've gone right into autumn overnight, lovely and cool. The weather is really strange!

Somewhere in my fifties I realized keeping the garden looking healthy and happy was to go with plants that flourish without all the attention required.

This excludes the herbs, a small area to tend/defend regularly without using pesticides or would break they cycle of natural gardening.

Loving this cooler weather, no complaints after a lovely braai yesterday with family, happy Mothers Day!
