White or Brown? Fun Friday Football Frenzy

Hello Hello Hivians

I was full of good plans today and right now the football is on across the road. It is a massive massive match, one of the biggest in years. Raith Rovers are so close to getting into the top flight of Scottish football.

Not sure what I think about that...

This was the scene a few minutes ago at half time...

image.png

The ground holds about 6000 and it is full.

image.png

That is the main stand for the home supporters.

image.png

It is funny now that people always check things on their phone.

In my days of going to Rangers matches, we would be listening to the radio or the tannoy as we had no smartphones!

Aye those were the days...

image.png

As this is a play off match, the match is being shown live on BBC Scotland, so the TV cameras and big lorries to carry the equipment are out in force!

image.png

Water is in full flow with the pitch being watered at half time!

image.png

Police are getting a free view of the game, I could wander across and look too, but I fear the away team are going to win it!

It is evenly balanced!

image.png

What has this got to do with eggs!

Oh massive roar from the crowd ... It is a draw at the moment .. ten minutes to go!

I was at the shop today and picked up a box of eggs, the one in the lead image ...

They were white!

What colour are your eggs?

Normally they are brown here, I know in the States we had white eggs, so it was a bit of a shock seeing white ones...

So do you get white or brown eggs?

The eggs well it is salad season and tonight I made my first salad of the year.

I was going to make a foodies post on it, as I took a gazillion pictures of the ingredients ....

Bonus points if you can guess all the ingredients in this salad!

image.png

I have realised that half the ingredient have been buried lol

Can you guess the meat?

It made it for me!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!

Here most of them are brown, very few times white shells are seen. This food looks very appetizing. Thanks for sharing dear @tengolotodo . A big hug from Maracay.

Ah yes I think most here are brown too!
I hope you had a great weekend my friend @irvinc 😁

Here eggs are mostly brown, but I've seen white eggs also. We choose the brown one to consume. I cannot guess the meat. In first glance I thought it was a ham.😛

Pastrami is the meat so like a peppered beef I think would be the best way to describe it. Okay so your eggs are like here then. It was unusual to see white.
Good morning Asia and I wish you the most marvellous week!

Thank you😁. I think eggs are mostly the same.😌

Yes it is what's inside that counts, as long as that is tasty that's all that matters 😁

You should know I can't resist a guessing game, so here goes:
Pepper beef/ smoked beef? (I love both)
Lettuce - green (& purple?)
Radish
Beetroot
Carrots
Coleslaw - cabbage and more carrots & Mayonnaise
Potato salad - Onions, Mayonnaise, again, and potatoes of course😀
Salad dressing
Eggs - white eggs of course😉, which is available here, but brown is our regular eggs

Who won the match?
This beeeg salad would make a nice foodie post Ed! Looks very good.

Yes funnily enough I did take a load of pics along the way to make a foodie post .. so let's see.

The match wow it went to penalties and the local team won, it is all people have been talking about. Now there is a play off against the team from the top division. Overcome them and Raith will be in the top division next year. Mental so it is !

Your guessing is good Lizzie, although there was also sweetcorn and beansprouts (you might call them mung beans) and some baby plum tomatoes. We did have it two nights in a row.

That play-off is going to be exciting for the locals! I love football, hubby played till in his early 40s, and both our sons played from a very young age. It was so exciting watching them develop, but they stopped in their mid-teens. Most South African schools are rugby-mad!
Mung bean sprouts are my favourite, I make my own from time to time, and I think it's about time I start making it again. Makes a nice healthy snack as well. How did I not see them?
I'm looking forward to seeing that foodie post😉

The first leg of the playoff is on Thursday night here and the second leg at the weekend up north.
Exciting times. Ah yes I think hubby was a Liverpool fan?
Yes I need to make some more bean sprouts, use to make them as kids and have as a snack. They were buried on that plate of food hehe

We have brown eggs! And I really can’t guess anything aside Carrots! I was wondering what football has to do with shopping. You’re a master story teller after all and spin things like they are pottery. Looooool

Did you take that picture with Drone? Seems so clear upclose from that distance you’re looking

hehe you know me Deraa I just speak nonsense and occasionally it all comes together!
No drones were used in the preparation of this post. This was all the camera and the zoom lens

Ahan! Nice to meet a football lover like me
Do you play football too?
As for the eggs, in Nigeria it is both colours
There are brown ones and white as well

hehe I used to play football, even played against some local Nigerian teams when I worked there many moons ago.

Wao! Thats great to know

Haha brown eggs here are those are organic, which is more expensive than the white ones

Ah that is interesting. They stopped battery hens a long time ago and now have free range chickens, not quite organic but getting there, organic eggs are still brown so not sure what the reason is. I prefer white as I love duck eggs which are white!
Boang now I want a duck egg... See what you have done now charrrr

In the end, Mr Tengo still manages to put the eggs where it belongs in the match, Lols.

About the ingredients guess, nah? Wouldn't want to give it that try. Not a salad chef so I'll miss all the way.

hehe loads of ingredients in the salad, thanks Dani yeah how did I relate eggs and football!
/not sure I did hehe

Oh My!, that looks so yummy 😋😋😋. I think I would have to watch out for your foodies post to know all the ingredients.

We have both brown and white eggs here in Nigeria.

#dreemerforlife

Yeah I think most places have brown and white eggs as I learnt it is to do with brown and white chickens and we have both!
The foodie post oh the pressure is on, I should make one now!

😂😂😂 I will be looking forward to reading it.

Here, the eggs are mostly brown, though a few whites may show.

As for people always checking their phones, that has really become the new normal now. 🤣🤣🤣
#dreemerforlife

Yeah people chat in person whilst still checking their phones now!
Yes seems more brown eggs out there than white. Apparently brown feathered chickens give brown eggs and white feathered chickens give white eggs!

Eggs over here are mainly brown, but I think I've seen white eggs a couple of times.
The salad looks so yummy 😋.
I thinks it's the new thing now, to always check your phone.
For me I do check my phone when I'm in an awkward situation, or I'm alone😅
#dreemport

Brown feather chickens give brown eggs and white chickens give white eggs I learnt today!
I have had both when I was in Port Harcourt :)
Ah yes checking your phone, we all do it now! Do you sing on your phone?

Wow!! That's an amazing fact, I never knew.
We learn every day 😊.
Really? You were in Port Harcourt Nigeria?? Wow!! I would love to know more about your stay here, if you don't mind sharing 😊.

I'm sure they both taste the same right?😅

Yes, I do sing on my phone😊

CORNED BEEF?
here,in New England, brown eggs are local and from fresh farms nearby
White means a big factory farm, less fresh. Usually raised with methods less healthy

Pastrami and darn tasty it was too.
I was curious about the colour as a kid on a farm we had white eggs and then I remember the chickens were white. So I googled a bit and the egg colour is to do with the chicken breed. Brown feathers gives brown eggs and white feathers gives white eggs.
Both sides of the Atlantic sites said the same thing. We used to have white eggs in Florida and I was all chuffed as they were my favourite.
I was wondering if organic/free range/ barn or battery hens were the answer, but yes seems the colour of the feather!

we have a friend nearby who gives us eggs from her hens. In a six pack of eggs, usually at least one blue one as well. speckled, all brown,, and blue. none of her hens give white eggs
