Little Ringed Plover at the River Shore and at the Gravel Pit

This year I still haven't had the opportunity to take some pictures of the cute Litte Ringed Plover and I think this is very sad since this is a really nice bird that I usually encounter pretty often. But this year the weater and the circumstance didn't play along and I have to admit that I am already a little bit dissapointed of this years results so far. Maybe it gets better in the next months but I doubt that a bit. This next weekend I will visit Lower Austria for some more bird photography and I hope that I will find some interesting birds like Eagles or other birds of prey and maybe some nice small passerin birds. In the next weeks I also probably want to go for some birding near Linz again maybe I get some more pictures of these Little Ringed Plovers that I found at the Water Power Plant near Linz.

The Little Ringed Plover try to breed here at the river shore and at the gravel Pit, but since the danube has a very different dept througout several days because of the water regulations of the water power plants most of these birds probably loose their nests here. At the Gravel Pit that doesn't have this rise and fall of the water levels the chance of survival is a lot better. Also at the old Cement Factory where there is no dismanteling anymore these days, their chances of survival are a lot better.

I really enjoy watching these birds when they are looking for small insects in the mudd or inbetween small gravel pieces. It is such a relaxing thing to do. Wathing them, taking some pictures and relaxing on the mat in the sun. 😂

What a shame you haven't been able to see these beautiful birds yet, I hope the weather changes a little.
May you have much success in Lower Austria and find beautiful birds.
I love the Ringed Plover, the band on their forehead and the yellow circle around their eyes makes them look great.
Thank you very much for sharing these beautiful photographs.
