Spotted woodpecker searches for insects under the bark of a tree

Today was a warm sunny day. There are many people in the park. After the cold days, it was pleasant to walk along its alleys. The snow melted and again the weather began to resemble the beginning of autumn. I go and blow bark from one large tree. I raise my head and see that two variegated woodpeckers are sitting at the top of the tree and hammering the tree branches with their beaks. Apparently they found many insects under the bark and therefore did not pay attention to anyone at all. I always have my camera with me. True, there were many branches around the woodpeckers, which made it difficult to choose a good angle. I had to walk a little around the tree to photograph them.

Woodpeckers did not appear in this park this year. Unfortunately, I saw them only once in the forest. Previously, you could see them more often. Even near the river, where a small forest grows, they also flew there. I think that this year I will not see them at all. But apparently with the onset of cold weather. when winter is already close, woodpeckers began to move people closer to their homes. Apparently they liked the big city park too. There are many large and old trees under the bark of which there are many insects. " "DSC07133-4.jpg""

The weather will be good, I will definitely go to the forest, which is located on the outskirts of the city. I saw woodpeckers there too. Perhaps they flew there too. I always like to watch how these birds deftly work with their beaks. By and large, they help trees fight pests. They can be considered the orderlies of the forest. " "DSC07135-4.jpg""

n general, I was very lucky to see these two spotted woodpeckers in this park in good weather. I hope they will not fly far away and I will be able to photograph them again.
