Ha pasado un buen tiempo desde que compartí una publicación en este espacio y es que comencé mis actividades de docencia en la Universidad y mi tiempo ha sido bastante limitado para sentarme a escribir. Hoy quiero cumplirle una promesa que le hice a mi sobrino de hacer una reseña/unboxing de un control para Nintendo Switch: el Wireless Pro Pad Meglaze y como soy un Tío de palabra acá lo traigo para el disfrute de todos. Comencemos!
Greetings GeekZone community! It's been a while since I shared a post in this space and I started my teaching activities at the University and my time has been quite limited to sit down and write. Today I want to fulfill a promise I made to my nephew to do a review/unboxing of a controller for Nintendo Switch: the Wireless Pro Pad Meglaze and since I am a Uncle of my word, here I bring it for everyone's enjoyment. Let's get started!
En un post anterior les compartía lo mucho que disfruto pasar tiempo jugando con mi sobrino, desde obras clásicas de cuando yo tenía su edad como Gunstar Heroes y Golden Axe hasta juegos que apelan a esa misma nostalgia pero renovados gráficamente como River City Girls y TMNT, juegos indies que ya les haré su justa reseña.
In a previous post I shared how much I enjoy spending time playing with my nephew, from classic works from when I was his age like Gunstar Heroes and Golden Ax to games that appeal to that same nostalgia but graphically renewed like River City Girls and TMNT, indie games that I will give you your fair review.
Gunstar Heroes/Golden Axe/TMNT/River City Girls
Estos títulos son la gloria cuando se juega de forma cooperativa y esa fue la razón que nos movió a comprar un control de Xbox 360 no solo para jugar en la consola de Microsoft sino también en el PC. El entusiasmo de mi sobrino ha sido tal que hasta rotulo cada uno de nuestros controles.
These titles are the glory when played cooperatively and that was the reason that moved us to buy an Xbox 360 controller not only to play on the Microsoft console but also on the PC. My nephew's enthusiasm has been such that he even labeled each of our controls.
Sin embargo habíamos tenido bastante inconvenientes para jugar cooperativo en la Nintendo Switch y es que verán, mi sobrino recibió de regalo navideño una Switch Oled que venía con un solo mando tipo Joy-Con.
However, we had had quite a few problems playing cooperatively on the Nintendo Switch and you see, my nephew received a Switch Oled as a Christmas gift that came with a single Joy-Con type controller.
Este control puede separarse en 2 mandos pequeños que permiten el juego cooperativo pero incluso para mi sobrino era bastante incómodo jugar de esta manera particularmente con juegos que exigen reacciones rápidas y una alta coordinación.
This controller can be separated into 2 small controllers that allow for cooperative play but even for my nephew it was quite uncomfortable to play this way particularly with games that require quick reactions and high coordination.
Sin embargo, nintendo ya ha sacado a la venta un control que se ajusta precisamente para este tipo de juegos: el Control Pro de Nintendo Switch. Habíamos visto algunos usados en Mercado libre pero incluso para ser usados estaban a unos precios demasiado exagerados. Así que pensamos que si íbamos hacer este gasto lo mejor sería comprarlo en una tienda física directamente.
However, Nintendo has already released a control that is precisely suited for this type of game: the Nintendo Switch Pro Control. We had seen some used ones on Mercado Libre but even for used ones they were at prices that were too exaggerated. So we thought that if we were going to make this expense, the best thing would be to buy it in a physical store directly.
Nos planteamos entonces ir reuniendo el dinero desde mediados de marzo disciplinadamente al igual que hicimos con el Super Mario Wonder y para finales de abril ya teníamos una cantidad aproximada a lo que costaba así que fuimos a distintas partes del centro de Caracas a buscar el control.
We then planned to collect the money from mid-March in a disciplined manner, just as we did with Super Mario Wonder, and by the end of April we already had an approximate amount of what it cost, so we went to different parts of downtown Caracas to look for control.
Al final no encontramos el control original de Nintendo pero nos mostraron una marca que emula de forma muy fiel las características del control Pro original y lo mejor es que estaba a un precio mucho más bajo, lo pensamos bastante tiempo porque no quería tirar el esfuerzo de semanas en un control de mala calidad, pero luego de hacer un par de pruebas con un modelo de pruebas en la tienda decidimos darle una oportunidad y esta es la principal razón de hacer esta reseña.
In the end we didn't find the original Nintendo controller but they showed us a brand that very faithfully emulates the features of the original Pro controller and the best thing is that it was at a much lower price. We thought about it for a long time because I didn't want to waste the effort of weeks in a poor quality control, but after doing a couple of tests with a test model in the store we decided to give it a try and this is the main reason for doing this review.
La mayor sorpresa que me lleve con este control es que no es exclusivo para su uso en Nintendo Switch sino que también es compatible con PC! Esto es ideal ya que tengo varios títulos indies que son cooperativos convirtiéndose en una alternativa los controles de xbox360/pc que no me terminan de convencer particularmente en juegos de pelea.
The biggest surprise I got with this controller is that it is not exclusive for use on Nintendo Switch but is also compatible with PC! This is ideal since I have several indie titles that are cooperative, making them an alternative to the Xbox360/PC controls that do not convince me, particularly in fighting games.
Al extraerlo de la caja, el control viene con un manual de instrucciones rápidas y un cable USB (Tipo C) para conectarse al PC, este cable esta pensado principalmente para cargar la batería del control por lo que si queremos usarlo para jugar en Pc necesitaremos un cable de extensión.
When removed from the box, the control comes with a quick instruction manual and a USB (Type C) cable to connect to the PC. This cable is mainly designed to charge the control's battery, so if we want to use it to play on a PC we will need an extension cable.
Vale decir que el control es bastante ligero, se adapta bastante bien a las manos y también cuenta con vibración. Una vez leídas las instrucciones lo primero que hicimos fue sincronizar el control con el Switch Oled un proceso que fue casi automático.
It is worth saying that the control is quite light, fits quite well in the hands and also has vibration. Once we had read the instructions, the first thing we did was synchronize the control with the Switch Oled, a process that was almost automatic.
Hecha la sincronización llego la hora de probar este control, el pequeño demonio no se le ocurrió algo mejor que probar el control con Minecraft en lugar de un título de Nintendo, en general se adapta bien para este tipo de juegos. Su siguiente juego favorito fue Fortnite, así es amigos mi sobrino es uno más de la estadística: Minecraft/Fortnite.
Once the synchronization was done, it was time to try this control, the little demon couldn't think of anything better than trying the control with Minecraft instead of a Nintendo title, in general it adapts well for this type of games. His next favorite game was Fortnite, that's right friends, my nephew is one of the statistics: Minecraft / Fortnite.
Y no es que no lo haya intentado, le comenté de un shooter nuevo (Helldivers 2) y lo despreció de inmediato sin siquiera ver ningún video del gameplay, solo tiene ojos para Fortnite. Así, que probamos el control esta vez en el PC con el título River City Girl un juego con bastante dificultad ya que requiere conocer los tiempos no solo para conectar los ataques sino para hacer los parry.
And it's not that he hasn't tried, I told him about a new shooter (Helldivers 2) and he immediately dismissed it without even seeing any gameplay videos, he only has eyes for Fortnite. So, we tested the control this time on the PC with the title River City Girl, a game with quite a bit of difficulty since it requires knowing the timing not only to connect the attacks but to make the parries.
Mis reflexiones finales finales del Control Meglaze es que es muy competente, estoy pensando seriamente en comprar el mío ya que el PAD es perfecto para juegos de pelea estilo King of Fighters o Fatal Fury. A mi sobrino le pareció ideal para jugar el Fortnite y lo menciono porque yo hace mucho tiempo que juego con teclado y ratón. En definitiva fue una gran sorpresa para mi este control mi calificación final es de 10, altamente recomendado.
My final final thoughts on the Meglaze Control is that it is very competent, I am seriously considering purchasing my own as the PAD is perfect for King of Fighters or Fatal Fury style fighting games. My nephew thought it was ideal for playing Fortnite and I mention it because I have been playing with a keyboard and mouse for a long time. In short, this control was a big surprise for me, my final rating is 10, highly recommended.

En 35$ me parece buen precio, pero mi pregunta es ¿el plástico con el que esta cubierto el control es premium?, porque tengo mis dudas, y también el recubrimiento del cable lo veo como flojo, cuéntame. Y felicidades por tu compra, la verdad amigo me parece muy bien.
