In this blog, I will be sharing with you all my preparations for my mother's birthday surprise, Since my mother wasn't by my side because I was here in Cebu and she was in Manila.

So before the day of my flight, I brought something to bring for my siblings and my mother. A few months ago my wife ordered a bouquet of crochet flowers for my mother, she gave my favourite colour of my mother to her classmate and I was amazed because it is so beautiful, it is indeed elegant for just 1000 pesos.

So we got the bouquet at her classmate's house, then we proceeded to the market to bring some Chorizo de Cebu which is my youngest sister Michelle's favourite because whenever they visit me here in Cebu she also wants to buy her a chorizo de Cebu.

After we bought Chorizo de Cebu before we proceeded to Carcar City we saw a cart selling some kikiam, squid balls and tempura (Filipino street food) so we bought first before we went to Carcar City, so for my wife, ordered squid balls and for my son, he chose tempura so my son and I shared I also buy soda for our drinks then we continue our food.

After we finished our food we immediately travelled to Carcar City to buy some pasalubong ( Filipino terms for something to bring home) while travelling to Carcar my wife tried to capture some pictures of the kite but she couldn't capture the pictures perfectly.

She also captured the clouds she was amazed by the colours of the sky so I just continued driving towards the road of the National Bacalso highway,

we also passed the San Fernando Church after we passed through San Fernando Church we stopped in the traffic.

If you have tried or maybe if you have time to travel south and pass to Carcar City Cebu you will be amazed at how these trees are or how old these trees are, These trees also help the motorist to protect from the direct sunlight, But you know what trees have been petitioned to be cut out, but thanks to those people who saved these trees I also get the point of the government why they need to cut it out maybe to prevent the accident due to this trees because sometimes branches were falling out.

After driving for almost 30 minutes we saw the signage of Carcar City the Heritage City of Cebu welcoming us, so my wife asked me if I could Slow it down so she could take a photo of the signage.

I continued driving and suddenly I and my wife argued, Since in Carcar City there are a lot of stores where you can choose where to buy delicacies, I told her that the store that I was pointing to was the store Thaw here usually bought some goods but she insists that the place that I was pointing is not the store, Since girls always right even it was wrong.

I decided to follow him so I continued driving until I asked him if she saw the store she still commanded me to continue to drive but eventually, we were out of place so to prevent a possible argument I just decided to the main store which is in the centre of the city.

Do you agree with me that girls are sometimes irritating? And for you girls I am right?

As we went by we saw the heritage houses and establishments in Carcar City truly Carcar is the heritage city of the south because of how they preserved the heritage houses and establishments.

Then after a few minutes, we reached the market where people sell different delicacies of Cebu most especially the Carcar Chicharon, when I saw the stores I felt a bit hungry since I love chicharon.

So we picked a store where we going to buy pasalubong or bring home, when my wife already picked the store where we going to buy, we immediately asked the seller how much their chicharron was.

Chicharon is a very popular snack all over the Philippines. This crunchy delight is one of the best and tastiest products on the market today.

Chicharon is pork skin cracklings that are made from pork rind and a little bit of fat. They are boiled and seasoned then deep-fried. Chicharon is usually enjoyed with spiced vinegar. and chicharron has 2 varieties the other one spicy and the other original for 20 pesos for each pack of chicharon.

they also have ample, Ampao” is a crunchy delicacy snack made from dried cooked rice, and you can buy it for 20 pesos each we bought 6 pieces in one pack.

Bocarillo is a counterpart of the well-known “bukayo”, a very sticky and chewy sweet made from strips of mature coconuts and usually brown Usually, it is round shaped and sometimes flat circular shaped. It is made from strips of young coconut meat instead of mature coconuts.

They have also dried Mango, Otap and many more to choose from. After we were done buying everything we decided to go home since we got too late.

I didn't notice that my wife took a photo of me while eating the chicharon, Carcar Cebu Chicharon is the best.

IMG20240505185129.jpg

After that, we travelled but like what happened when we were going to Carcar we stuck in the traffic not that we were going we were also stuck on the road, but I saw what the problem was, the problem is their road was so narrow that's why some vehicles can't pass.

IMG20240505184809.jpg

After a few minutes, we can manage to pass the traffic but other challenges come with the rough road I think the City of Carcar is renovating their road I hope they fix it, because it causing traffic also.

I continued driving when suddenly I saw a stall of mangoes so I asked my wife if she wanted some mangoes so we stopped for a few minutes to buy them since my kids love mangoes. We bought it for 100 pesos per kilo, there are a lot of mangoes selling on the side of the street. we just waited for our change so that we could leave.

After that, I continued driving when my wife asked if she could take a photo of Boungaveilla market since it is along the road, so we sneaked into the Boungaveilla but we weren't able to go inside since she wanted to go on a separate day to enjoy the place so she just took the picture outside the market.

Then I continued driving until we reached the signage of Carcar City saying " Thank you for coming" That's all for today and please join me on my continuation for my mother's birthday and Mother's Day surprise. thank you for reading and please don't forget to reblog and upvote also drop a comment for me I will be pleased to respond to all your lovely messages, Thank you Hivers.

i love mangoes but anyways thank you for sharing.

Welcome ✨

Every time we travel south, our first stop is Carcar. I always love to buy their chicharon and other pasalubong foodies hehe

They are really popular for their chicharon po.

How thoughtful you are sir @ace26 for preparing a bouquet of crochet flowers for your mother. And I was smiling while reading your blog about how you and your wife argued a certain things. It is really true that women sometimes easily get irritated maybe because of the hormonal imbalance in the body especially after giving birth, and men should understand their wife all the time 🙂

I always choose to be understanding with her to avoid conflict with her maybe her hormonal imbalance caused his immediate change of emotion. And I love her the way she is and who she is. I also prepared for this po because I chose her to be my other half.

The crochet flowers are fabulous.

They are indeed fabulous ma'am, my wife's classmate has the talent to do these beautiful crochet flowers

What a heartwarming journey kuya @ace26!☺️ Your dedication to making your mother's birthday special shines through every moment you shared. It's wonderful how you captured the essence of family and tradition, especially with those delightful delicacies and the scenic drive. Looking forward to reading more about the Mother's Day surprise! Keep spreading joy, kuya @ace26!🤩💗

Thank you for dropping by. My Mother's Day greeting to your mother ✨💛
