Today, I had a bizarre experience in class with my students which turned out to be a great learning moment. I was humbled at the outcome of the whole situation. I forgot my lesson notes at home and needed to make revisions with the examination class on planetary rotation. I apologized to the students but that did not solve the problem. While thinking of what to do, I called on a colleague if he could send a ready material, he told me to use AI. Wow, I did not just think about that. he said I could use Meta AI - Llama 3. That was quite revealing.
This would be the first time I would use this to teach them. While I queried the chatbot to create images I could use to teach the students, it did and suggested "if you want to se the image move, you can tell me to animate it" That was very relieving. I queried for an animation and the AI obliged. It was a beautiful sight to behold that I got something better than I had prepared in a matter of seconds. The students were so excited to see and I found it so helpful to explain the topic.

Reflecting on the entire situation in class, I asked myself, "Could it be possible for AI to take over the world?". I needed to make some research to satisfy my quest. It was amazing again to see the latest developments in the AI space over the last few weeks. I felt bad that I have been lagging so long in terms of knowledge on how far AI has gone.
in a related news, I found out that Open AI has delivered GPT-4o a human-like AI interaction bot with text, audio, and vision integration. That was a fast jump into the future. This is in addition to their plans of unveiling an AI-driven challenger to Google Search. Now, it is a case of "if you can't beat them, join them". AI is going ahead of us and we have to join them. There is need for every one to upgrade himself to embrace the future that is coming.

The rise of AI has sparked both excitement and concern. As AI systems become increasingly advanced, many wonder when – or if – AI will take over the world. The answer is not a simple one. Although AI has made tremendous progress recently, thinking that AI will "take over" the world is still largely the realm of science fiction. The utilization is flowing into every fabric of life like in my story but these are made possible by people creating the AI products.
Today, AI systems are designed to perform specific tasks such as , prompt writing, data analysis, image recognition, and natural language processing. From automation and job displacement to healthcare and education, AI is already transforming the way we live and work. However, they are not capable of independent thought or action.
Truly, AI will not take over the world? At least, not in the sense of a robotic uprising or AI-driven apocalypse. Instead, AI will continue to evolve and improve, augmenting human capabilities and enhancing our quality of life. The key is to develop AI responsibly, ensuring that it is safe and protects human values.

I love your sentiments on this piece. It is true that there is a massive wave invasion by AI with deepening use cases. This was focus of the #dailyleo compilation on AI yesterday. This would have been a great highlight of it came earlier.
I don't doubt that an AI apocalypse is a possibility if humans don't scale up in knowledge on how AI can be gainfully engaged.
Already, many have become redundant in learning and are failing to engage their creativity because AI is here.
