RE: The Hive Blockchain: A Foundation For Global Community

in Hive Governance4 months ago (edited)

I still think there is a good demand for a feed where a user can configure it to ignore the curation from accounts he chooses. That way, the whales have to earn their influence. The rewards may follow the masses. After all, we can choose to see nsfw content, can view posts from accounts with lots reputation. Why can't we choose whose voice determines our feed?

Sort:

Yes you got a good point but that's not the way this system was set up. In fact the system all revolves around rewards and whoever gets them gets the biggest voice.

We will see what happens with all the level player to community tokens and the shift. However that's going to mean that a lot more of us are going to have to be making volume within the internal market.

It was set up to give those with the most stake the most influence on monetization. It was assumed visibility would also follow because who has more interest in good content than those with the highest stake, right? That was naive because plenty of people will spend or risk their money because of their biases. Now there is more motivation among whales to quash ideas like this one because it would disempower them. Like a capitalist democracy, land owners can own the land but each person gets just one vote. SPK is going this way. I would put it the other way: we get to buy the newspaper that we like, associate with who we please and listen to who we respect. The blocktrades posts were headed this way, but seem to be delayed (or should I say quashed?)

Capitalist democracy? You mean constitutional republic.

Way different.

Hey check out the Great Law of Peace. And it's translation into the most influential documents in human history.

Thanks for the tip; I looked it up. Interesting to think of the origin of the US Constitution with that in mind. Maybe there may be some value, along with the Federalist Papers, when determining what the law makers meant with their laws.

I held off from saying constitutional republic because we are talking about ownership of private property, which just happens to be a core value in the American constitutional republic. Trust- busting is a departure from that value and a slippery slope of last resort, in my opinion. It is similar to what brought about hive with steem rulers using the access they had to "set things right". I'd rather use the features of the hive chain to address this problem, not fork it yet again. I agree with whoever disagreed with the blurt fork: we need to flex our power, not dispurse it to competing chains.

I'm the reason we have hive and blurt.

I'm the one that ignited the rush to fork after Justin sun took my time to speak at the town hall. After I said the guy is an idiot fork and let the Best Chain Win!

Let the best chain win... That's why we got hive. And blurt. And a few others that faded.

In that same lecture I also demanded to have layer two tokens as well as decentralized finance and Diesel pools?

Oh guess who got it all...

You totally should track me down on discord and let's talk.

Oh yeah the great law of peace isn't a singular event. The people of Asia and Europe had contact with America and in Americas there was freedom of the scale the European people can't understand.

They are finding cities in the Amazon that were around at the conquest. Huge ones..

I don't hear from the people who went to blurt except when they post here from time to time. Competition is good, but you have to eventually focus resources - which I think is the point of this post. Honored to discuss these things with you, given what your role has been in moving things forward!

And why isn't there social feed aggregation going on? I have check Hive for raw truth, X for the pulse, Truth to see Trump has to say, and FrankSpeech to see if we will ever have fair elections?

Well track me down on discord and let's have a conversation. As well as my secrets of Hive class.

In fact my friends and the alumni of the class have absolutely been killing it. I'm extremely excited to watch them grow and do even better.

And then the new opportunity has opened up where I just might be really doing well here in a minute? Oh I'm excited...

Definitely there is a lot of opportunity in the air.

If we can just break out of the garbage glitchy experience. And get to something that's from this century?

Seriously half the projecs I've been seeing lately look like something that was built in the 90s....

Where is The cutting edge technology? Where is the future instead of looking like some broke Windows 95 garbage?

Hmmm
