Yes, I agree, the only project that I know of who are doing this is 3speak / SPK - they have a model of removing stake from rankings and also plans to integrate a method that allows for every user to write their own algorithm to enable them to discover content in their own way. We have the potential to solve all such problems in ways that no other network on the web has done, but need some extra punch to push through quickly.
