I was not in a rush yesterday morning since it was early on a Sunday and I knew there would be minimal traffic. It was cool but not cold and we had the clouds moving in which turned to some good thunderstorms later in the day.
I had 3 barrels of grain to load into the trailer with 2 still steaming warm.
Before too long I had them loaded and headed for home.
I had been home for a while when I heard our local stunt plane pilot out doing loops. The sound of the motor gives it away as it limbs into the loop the motor starts to bog down until he makes it over the top and the motor speeds up again.
Last day of PL soccer and Man Utd eeked out a win. It was not a resounding win by any stretch but it was a win. They are still languishing in the tables and are likely to NOT get any Euro play at all next year. There needs to be a complete wipe out of the team and managers going into the next season or else they will likely be relegated next year.
During the half time I headed out and emptied the grain out for the animals and birds who all munched away happily.
After the match I headed out again and this time got the grass all raked and hauled to the animals.
Not sure why this year but the elderberry bushes killed off most of their larger branches and are exploding new growth from the base. I broke out all the dead branches and piled them.
Then did the same for the bush by the sheep pen. They both look scraggly but have a ton of new growth popping.
While I was out working the boys were on the couch with a little light reading.
It was after noon when the first storm cell flew past and dropped rain.
Not only did it drop rain but then the hail fell. I didn't get a shot of the biggest which was nearly half an inch. Not very heavy and more grauple like than hard hail.
@stryeyz and the boys went to her work for a bit so I spent time getting seeds in the soil, again. None of these 3 came up originally, except for a couple spots of each, and had to be reseeded.
To the North Northwest was a wall of black moving our way. Behind the trees and house was super dark and foreboding.
As I could tell we were in for a good rain I wanted the fire going in the pit well before it go to us.
The 2 lines of storms were aimed right at us and the first one popped off with some thunder as it got near.
It was taking its time so I took the opportunity to get some more seeds in the ground. The end row was supposed to have butternut seeds growing but none had sprouted so these got put in spaced far apart.
Since the rain had yet to hit I hauled the pile of elderberry branches over and broke them down and burned them in the pit. It was just like burning balsa wood, super light weight and gone in a flash.
The sky finally opened at 5pm and dumped pretty well for a while. We got a tenth inch overall.
As it rained I got the burgers on to grill and managed to finish them as a break in the rain hit.
Just enough of a break to get the buns on to toast without getting wet on top.
We got out to soak in the rather chill evening air. The humidity and the cool made it feel colder than it was. We are looking at storms most of the week.
Today I have a short chiro appointment this morning, will get boys to and from school, it is our one sunny day for the week after the fog burns off, need to trim back bushes and trees that are encroaching on things, wash my clothes, take the long slack line down, I should get the topper on my truck today once the bed is dry since it will be raining the rest of the week, then I will come up with something for dinner this evening.

Do you load barrel of grains everyday?
No only when they have some ready. It can be weeks between barrels or days, just depends on their brewing schedule.
That's right, I've been watching for a long time that you wake up like this every morning and work so hard.
