I have always considered a photographic image to be my property, my work, and defended it as best I could. Now that I have learned some metaphysical aspects of photography, I do not consider the picture my property.

If I come into contact with reality, with something unconscious, then the plot is rather a gift from the universe, where I act only as a medium.

Based on this, I believe that all creative activity is divided into two types: the product of intellectual activity and a gift from something higher, other, otherworldly.

The legislation just states that this is a product of intellectual activity, that is, the mind.

Yes, this is also the case and this is the majority. That is, for example, a photographer, using his knowledge in composition, in working with light and color, as well as in post-processing, makes an image.

And this will be his property, his product of the activity of the mind.

In the second case, if you discard all your knowledge, turn it off and just give yourself up to sensations (which, by the way, is not easy to do the first time), then the picture will be the result of your perception of the world around you working together and what the universe will present to you.

Yes, you press the button, yes, you take into the frame what you think is necessary and interesting.

But you didn't create the plot, but it came to you. It was created by something else, let it be called the universe.

So it is in all other types of creativity – there are mediums, and there are minds.

And there is a question that I have been asking myself not for the first time: is there something otherworldly in reportage photography, or does only the mind work there?

It seems to me that it is possible to connect with the universe in a reportage, but it is more difficult when there is a creative task (CT).

For some reason, I always want to decipher CT as a technical task.

Probably, it is closer in meaning to the technical one, when you need to follow certain algorithms.

And the phrase as a creative task generally seems meaningless.

There is another point of view, the prism of another photographic layer: Street photography is pampering, it's not serious.

And everyone will be right for their part.

You can simply remove cliches without asking questions of perception and without creating your own unique handwriting.

But many photographers, including those from Magnum, say that if you are satisfied with the result, then the universe will not give you anything more. After all, everything suits you.

And if you are constantly looking, hungry, dissatisfied with what is being given, then you will always be given something more, because you ask for it.

I am always greedy, hungry and unsatisfied. I always need more!
