Breakfast with Bagel and Kombucha at Penang

You know that I often share about how to make kombucha and other things about this fermented tea. For those of you who don't know kombucha, it is a fermented tea drink with good bacteria, called a SCOBY and you should find out about it immediately. Drinks that can help your digestive health, where good gut is a good life and good mood.

One day, I was looking for breakfast in a small town in a neighboring country. There's only one reason, I can't cook at the hotel and it's much better to try some food I've never eaten before. The initial intention was to have chicken noodles in front of the hotel, but it turned out to be not halal because it used lard. It was unfortunate and I had a bad feeling at that time. I don't know why, I really want to eat that, but I know that it is not allowed by the teachings of the religion I follow.

Long story short, I walked step by step through the breakfast cart that I should have been able to eat. There are lots of shophouses on this street and it turns out there are lots of interesting cafes but they're not open (not yet operational), yes of course, it's only 08.00 am, I'm like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Because I had walked so long, it even seemed like I was almost running a marathon at that time. 30 minutes had passed, I found a cafe that seemed to have just opened, which turned out to be a very aesthetic place. My husband and I tried to find out what café this was, and it was a bakery that specialized in selling bagels.

Bagel, a type of bread that I have never tried. I also just found out that the shape is similar to a donut, but in a different version. Usually donuts are topped with chocolate or something sweet, but the bagels I saw were different. Similar to buns but baked. We know that buns are steamed and enjoyed warm.

This café also sells kombucha, one of my favorite drinks after becoming a diabetic. Kombucha really helps the constipation complaints that I always experience, kombucha also helps stabilize blood sugar. Similar to apple cider vinegar, apple cider vinegar can be drunk if mixed with water, while kombucha is very similar to tea which is slightly sour.

I chose a bagel with red bean filling and also a bottle of kombucha with rose green tea flavor. Why choose red beans, because I need a filling of beans for breakfast to add a little fiber and protein, as well as kombucha to help with my digestive difficulties. Every time I travel, I have difficulty and am always constipated, I haven't pooped in 3 days and that really makes me a little annoyed.

True, a bagel is not a donut, I have to admit that it is similar to bread in general in terms of texture, but the filling is what makes it different. The shape is like a donut but the filling is like bakpau which is baked like bread. An interesting menu and it made me really amazed by the various bread menus that exist in this world. Many people create various menus from wheat flour.

For kombucha, I thought the taste was very strong, in fact I have never fermented my kombucha like this. they use rose and green tea as basic ingredients and I've never tried that before. There are lots of interesting menus but I think I've had enough for breakfast this time. completely different from usual. At least that day my stomach was smooth and didn't cramp the pants I was wearing.

So sorry you didn't find halal chicken, it's hard to find halal meat in your country? I'm not Muslim but one of my friends is and she hardly find halal meat unfortunately, by the way I like bagels so much especially the salty ones, I know kombucha but it's hard to find here 😕

It's very easy to find halal food in Indonesia, because the majority are Muslim. but when I travel, only a few countries find it very easy to get halal food, but that doesn't make me afraid to travel.

Isn't kombucha sour for breakfast? 😅 Bagel looks yummy..

I usually choose to drink a glass of warm water with apple cider vinegar and it is very good for my digestion😆
