Homemade Gnocchi Tradicional Recipe

This is the simplest, most delicious and most economical recipe that we can make at home. This is a traditional and simple Italian recipe that is made at home.

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 500g white potato
  • 200g wheat flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Salt
  • Nutmeg

This is the simplest thing in life, we are going to start by boiling the potatoes, it is important that they have their skin on because this way we prevent them from absorbing a lot of water, we boil until they are soft, then we peel and make a puree, taking care of make sure there are no lumps, everything must be well crushed.

Esta es la receta más sencilla, deliciosa y económica que podemos hacer en nuestras casas. Esta es una receta italiana, tradicional y simple que se hace en las casas.

Ingredientes para 4 personas:

  • 500g de papa blanca
  • 200g de harina de trigo
  • 2 yemas de huevo
  • Sal
  • Nuez moscada

Esto es lo más sencillo de la vida, vamos a comenzar por poner las papas a hervir, es importante que tenga su piel porque de esta manera evitamos que absorba mucha agua, hervimos hasta que estén blandas, después pelamos y hacemos un puré, cuidando de que no haya grumos, todo debe estar bien aplastado.


Now we are going to add the wheat flour and a little grated nutmeg, yes, the egg yolks and yes, we will take advantage of the fact that everything is still hot and we will knead to integrate everything.

Ahora vamos a añadir la harina de trigo y un poco de nuez moscada rallada, las yemas de huevo y sí, aprovecharemos que todo está aún caliente y vamos amasando para integrar todo.


Now with our dough we are going to divide it into few sections to work comfortably, and we start by stretching it with our hand until we have a long tube, which we will cut about the size of half a finger.

Ahora con nuestra masa vamos a dividirla en varias secciones para trabajar cómodos, y empezamos por estirarla con la mano hasta que tengamos como un tubo largo, que cortaremos como del tamaño de medio dedo.


Now comes the interesting part, we are going to make the gnocchi flutes, they usually sell a special instrument, but we can also do it with a fork. Observe, I place my fork on the back and place the dough from above, I press gently in the center and with my finger I slide down as if it were a slide and this way the homemade shape is left.

Ahora viene la parte interesante, vamos a hacerle las estrías a los ñoquis, por lo general venden un instrumento especial, pero también lo podemos hacer con un tenedor. Observen, coloco mi tenedor por la parte de atrás y coloco la masa desde arriba, presiono en el centro suavemente y con el dedo deslizo hacia abajo como si fuera un tobogán y de esta manera queda la forma casera.

It is a bit tedious to do the same thing many times because with this recipe, believe me, it turns out quite a few.

Es un poco tedioso hacer lo mismo muchas veces porque con esta receta créeme que salen bastantes.


Now we can save them or cook them at once. For the latter we put water to boil and add the gnocchi, it takes about 3 minutes to be ready, in the same way it is evident to know that they are ready because they begin to float, right at that moment is when we must remove them.

Ahora podemos guardarlos o cocinarlos de una vez. Para esto último ponemos agua a hervir e integramos los ñoquis, demoran como 3 minutos en estar listos, de igual forma es evidente saber que están listos porque ellos empiezan a flotar, justo en ese momento es cuando debemos retirarlos.


After this, I prepared a bacon sauce that I added to the gnocchi to have a perfect combination. In the pan there is a portion for two people, the rest I saved for another occasion in the freezer.

Después de esto, yo preparé una salsa de tocino que le integré los ñoquis para tener una combinación perfecta. En la sartén hay una porción para dos personas, el resto lo guardé para otra ocasión en el congelador.


To store it, I made it in a container to which I added more wheat flour and gently shook the gnocchi inside, so that they did not stick. On the other hand, look how this recipe turned out, it was wonderful.

Para guardarlo lo hice en un recipiente al cual le añadí más harina de trigo y sacudí suavemente con los ñoquis adentro, esto con la finalidad de que no se peguen. Por otro lado, vean como quedó esta receta, estuvo maravillosa.
