All talk about Overpopulation... What about the collapsing population?

in Deep Dives14 days ago

The narrative about the world being overpopulated is one that was spread far and wide a few years ago. It was taught in schools and I remember accepting that as it was because "teachers know it all". Well, that's what I thought during high school but I started to dig deeper and ask important questions as I became more informed about stuff.

The truth right now is that the whole "we are living in an overpopulated world" agenda no longer looks appealing to me. Not when it's self-evident that we are on the verge of a wild population collapse and we may end up in a situation where the world may have to deal with a massive issue of underpopulation.

I'm sure you are aware of the recurring crisis that has been eating into the world population;

1. War isn't helping the population.

How many wars are currently going on in this moment? The one between Ukraine and Russia that took center stage a few years ago is still ongoing. The recent Isreal Hamaz war is still blazing hot. These two already cost an insane amount of lives, but if you think that's the only war that's currently going on at this moment, then, you really haven't been paying attention.

2. Outbreak of diseases.

Memories of the COVID-19 pandemic (whether it really ever occurred or not) are still very fresh in a lot of people's minds and the number of lives that were lost on record to that pandemic is enough to melt brains. Let's not forget that there are recurring endemics in different parts of the world and all of these play a big part in the overall population

3. Same-sex marriage:

Hehe... This is insane. This is like the "untouchable holy grail" because the world has its way of shutting people up and making them suffer dearly once they express an uninspiring opinion about this. Well, if the idea is that the world is overpopulated, promoting same-sex marriage is a really interesting approach that is being used to make sure that the "population issue" won't go on. On the grand scheme of things, they know the consequence of what they are doing.

4. High Cost of Living.

Take this generation for an example; The high cost of living and other complex variables currently require both parents to work and I don't imagine that any reasonable person would want to have more kids than he/she can afford to comfortably take care of. What's that number? 1? 0? You'd be surprised.

While "overpopulation" is getting the limelight in mainstream media, there has been a recurring question that asks;

Should the government regulate the number of kids that families can have to control the country's population?

Most of the solutions to overpopulation that are being projected by those that think we have "too many people on the planet" have been preposterous. But, this whole idea of the government regulating the number of kids that families can have is the one that I would never want to see in my country.

Not because I want to have a dozen kids. Nope. I'm not going that far. However, the experience I've had with the Nigerian government and its regulations has been a pure disaster. And, you want to have them dictate how things would be done in people's homes?

Think, again!

If we are to assume that the world is truly faced with an overpopulation problem, I'm sure there are solutions to that. But, certainly, having the government as dictators of the number of kids that are allowed in any home doesn't seem like a solution in my books. That smells like a recipe for disaster.

I was talking with a friend before and he mentioned this scale curve where if we reach 10 billion people, we'd even out and the population would remain around that number. I can't remember the reasoning, but it seemed reasonable.

I heard this fact before also, if you took everyone on the planet, stood 1ft from eachother, we'd only take up 52-ish miles squared. Not much space at all in the grand scheme of things.

True. There are a bunch of things related to the world population in comparison to the world itself that is hardly verifiable. All we can do is try our best to figure it out.

I think I can actually understand your perspective really well. I am personally of the opinion that government should be involved, but the policy should be a flexible one. Such that, people can have any number of children they want so far they are financially capable. Of course, this can only take place in a working country.

That's it. I believe that in a sane world with sane people, someone that struggles to feed properly shouldn't be having 5 kids. The problem is that a lot of people are delusional. They live in a rented apartment and struggle to pay their rent. Yet, they want to have 3 wives and born a whole football team. Haha

Regardless of all that, Government should still sit back and focus on doing a better job of governing.

Malthusean scum needs an excuse for their genocidal plans. Imagine: Most monstrous murderers on the planet presenting themselves as Saviours… Cannot go more Satanic than that.

That's what they do. They present themselves as savior of the planet by claiming that "we are too many in the world".

Ask them to be the first to off themselves and everyone of them will immediately take the back seat.

Even with the current population that seems to be huge right now, it seems the world population is not under control. Now imagine if we increased again massively

The whole world population saga is a very complex talking point. We are just trying to have better understanding of it.
