There are still old seeds, i.e. seeds from centuries-old fruit and vegetable varieties.
It is resilient and can be reproduced wonderfully - but it is not allowed.
In Germany, there is a Saatgutverkehrsgesetz ("Seed Trade Act") that prohibits the trade, exchange and transfer of old seeds.
People should prefer to use genetically modified seeds from criminal large corporations.

The Federal Plant Variety Office has selected a total of 42 criteria to help classify potatoes. The criteria are shape, colour, skin, surface texture or consistency; taste is secondary and of no interest.
All criteria are assigned a value between 1 and 9 when classifying a new variety.
The higher, the better. In the end, the values of all criteria are added together and the potato with the highest value is also of the best quality, according to the Federal Plant Variety Office.
A genetically modified potato that tastes like nothing can therefore score very well because it is wonderfully round, has a nice skin and is beautifully yellow.
Anyone who violates this Saatgutverkehrsgesetz commits an administrative offence punishable by fines of up to 25,000 euros.

So if you pass on an old variety of seed, you are committing a criminal offence.
Although old varieties often contain significantly more nutrients than commercially available fruit and vegetables, it is illegal to sell them in Germany. Perhaps for this very reason.
After all, anyone who doesn't take vitamins, minerals and the basics of life, is the perfect candidate for the pharmaceutical industry.
And with names like Bayer or Monsanto dominating the seed business, you only have to put 1 and 1 together to realise what the whole thing is really about.
And this is all nothing new, the law exists since 1930.

Deshalb sollte man sich selbst eine Samenbank😇 ähm Saatgutschrank anlegen und anfangen sich soweit dies möglich ist selbst zu versorgen. Tauschen von Saatgut ist wie mit Bargeld zahlen.
