Honey is a natural produce gotten from bees in the forest or at the beehives. Honey is generally known by humans as a natural sweet substance produced by bees from the nectar of flowers, honey has various benefits but as sweetener or as a medicinal properties many people who have used honey to form herbal mixtures that helped in curing wounds but external or internal. The honey is found in every African home as most people prefer this honey also called natural sugar to refined sugar health expert at also advised that taking off honey is better and more healthy than sugars that are refined and packaged.

There are different lessons that one has to learn while in some cases honey is good for the body in other cases honey should not be exploited. For instance now modern day we see people sell honey that has been mixed with substances just to increase the quantity and to sell at a higher price. To get pure honey these days is very rare and advantages of recognizing this types of honey has to do with the cost, pure honeys are very expensive. This is why whenever my mother wants to you buy honey she goes to the village to buy directly from the people who have gotten it from the farm.

The cause of my research about honeys one thing I found out is that infant below one year old should not be given honey because it can't cause a serious illness that called infant botulism. The first time I heard about this illness was on social media when a medical personnel advise mothers to never give their babies horny and this is because of the fact that they are digestive tract is not yet matured enough to take in the botulism properties found in honey. In other words this block could serve as our means of warning to mothers who do not have the idea of the dangers of Honey to little kids.

In my country Nigeria honey does not only serve as the sweetener or a natural sugar but it can also serve as herbal medicine to cure sicknesses, diseases, or wounds. For instance honey is not to be beneficial for women when it is mixed with other properties of herbs, when a woman has infections or diseases in her vagina it is said that the blended mixture of garlic, ginger and honey are great antibiotics that would kill any unwanted organisms down there. Honey is also known to have the properties of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that are necessary to maintain a healthy body system.

Again honey serves a traditional purpose in different ceremony in Nigeria for instance in the Yoruba culture honey is a necessity that must be found in a traditional marriage engagement and during the naming ceremony of a child. The honey is believed to hold a cultural value that represent sweetness and joy in The marriage of the newly words. This is a symbolic representation used by the elders of the family to pray for the future of The marriage of the people. Again as I mentioned earlier honey is used when blessing a newborn child on their naming ceremony which comes up 8 days after the birth of the child. The elders use the honey to pray for the child life to be a smooth journey on Earth used to symbolically represent happiness, joy, fulfillment, prosperity and blessings all round.

In conclusion, it is advisable that when buying honey make sure to pick pure honey that is not refined or has any substance added to it.
