The Team Work Mentality Of Bees

in ecoTrain13 days ago

Sometimes I would sit quietly and marvel at the creations of God, on how little beings like ants, bees and other insects could still play important roles that can impact our environments. If you have heard about the division of labor strategies of bees and how they operate, you would agree with me that humans are not the only intelligent creatures on earth.

I believe bees are in every countries of the world because they are one of the most popular insects I know. Growing up I got stung by bees so many times that I became afraid of bees and anything concerning them. It was later in live that I started paying attention to them after learning about how they cooperate and perform tasks as a team.

To think that they even have a kingdom and a Queen they are loyal to is what can't stop fascinating me. Honey bees usually lives in a structure or should I call it a kingdom called a "Bee-Hive'. And here I was wondering if it was a coincidence or the Hive blockchain got her name from the bee teamwork story, lol.

I wouldn't be very surprised if my assumption on that were correct because as humans we could learn alot from the teamwork mentality of these little creatures called bee. Each Bee Hive has an organized body of workers from different stages and levels and all of them knows their jobs and how to get it completed.

According to how I was taught this history back in secondary school, every bee hive has a Queen who lay eggs and gives birth to more bees, and she's usually the most precious creature in that bee hive. She's usually the one that gives signals to the other bees on the security situation within the Hive.

Whenever the Queen lays her eggs (usually around 2,000 eggs each day), they are a particular category of workers among the bees whose Jobs are to go gather pollen and nectar for the queen and other bees to eat and be energized. They are the ones called the drones whose jobs are to just mate with the queen (easy and exciting jobs for them I guess, lol).

And they are the soldiers within the Bee Hives whose duty is to scare away any form of threat coming to the Queen (I believe this was the category of bees that dealt with me when I attempted to go destroy a Bee Hive some years back. The teamwork and mentality of this creatures is worth emulating, because it shows us that if we put our heads together as humans in building up something, then we could achieve it with the help of division of labor.

Apart from the interesting lesson learned from the bees, let's not forget their awesome contributions to our daily lives. Research has it that the honey produced by these bees are capable of not only fighting bacterial but curing chronic infections and wounds.

I was thinking the sweetness of honey is what has made it to stay relevant till this generation, little did I know that even more than it's sweetness, honey has antibiotic properties that can fight against cancer, Asthma, Diabetes, and keep us at our best. No wonder we celebrate bee day today, it's really worth it from the benefits they provide to mankind.

Honey bees have shown their positive impacts to our ecosystem, as research has it that they are responsible for the pollination of over 80% of flowering plants, including many of the fruits, vegetables, and nuts we consume daily. And this pollination process not only supports the growth of wild plant populations but also enhances crop yields, contributing to global food security.

So far, we have seen the positive ecological impact of honey bees to our environment and health, but lately there have been threats to their survival, which has also been a challenge to the balance of our ecosystems.

Most bees are now being affected by the Pesticides used by humans for agricultural purposes, and this has reduced a large number of bees on our environment these days. Some people go as far as destroying flowers to expand their farms, thereby making some of these bees loose their houses.

I would conclude this piece by urging us to put our heads together to see that bees continue to exist in our environments. We could achieve this by planting bee-friendly flowers and shrubs in our garden to provide them with a rich source of nectar and pollen.

We must put our heads together for the existence of bee because if they reduce in the community it can be dangerous to our ecosystem

You have said it all dear friend, bees play very vital role in society and it would be more beneficial if we preserve them continually.
