Sublime Sunday and Plants

Don't believe that you can't create a stunning flower bed or an abundant vegetable garden in a tiny area— you don't need a large amount of room to garden. Beautiful flowers, veggies that grow upward, aromatic and adaptable herbs, and delicate decorative grasses may all enhance the general appearance and abundance of even the tiniest area of land.

Some plants even thrive without soil, like this one. This is an air plant. And it flowers... the most delicate of blooms!

Air plants require no soil when being planted. The roots will attach themselves to the base, in this case a piece of old wood, and make this their home.

They say that air plants bloom only once. These are pretty magical.

This is the little garden room where I drink my coffee every morning.

There are birds that come spring and summers. So I placed garden stakes birds.. inexpensive but quite nice to look at.

Can you see them?

Does this garden look to you untended? LOL!!! Could it be that I want it to look wild?

How do I manage my garden/s? I do a tiny task each day, instead of waiting to complete everything at once, which is the best method I find to maintain the garden. Workdays that are lengthy can be taxing on the body and the soul. I remain content in the yard by breaking up the work into short bursts of time and giving my body a break in between.

Okay- so here goes: for the first photo-the Air Plant, you have texture and pattern and plant.

For the second photo- color, contrast and balance. I'm probably wrong, but oh well!

It looks beautiful sis! I've got 12 air plants arriving tomorrow; all smaller than yours. I am curious about yours though; do you ever dunk it in water and shake off all the excess? Or, do you just mist it?

You do have a green thumb as I've seen in your other posts before sis. Gardening is such fun! I am handling my vegetable garden in much the same way you are handling your garden. I can't possibly do all that needs doing in one shot, so it's a little here; a little there and a little more on the weekend if time allows.

Air plant has never flowered over here and I have plenty all over, you showed me something I have not witnessed. Gorgeous rose and healthy plants, I have frogs, pixies, painted ladybird rocks around the garden with real live birds 😂.

Relaxing little spot to enjoy your coffee in the morning.

My garden has been neglected for years, it's never been a garden but a yard since I bought the property. I've originally left this to my Deb years ago but her declining health and my financial goals and lack of free time left things neglected.
This is the first year of a new era in my life and I have a blank canvas.

Its as you said, a small project at a time.
The veggie garden, I'm starting with easy potatoes, onions, beets for the source of iron, Beans, Bok Choy and green onions for my Asian side. This combination also falls in line with home soft prepping.

For florals, the Violet and white tulips where a start and I will be planting more bunches. Rescued snow drops with spring crocus, I have yet to decide on a summer and fall bloom. Choices, choices choices, My gazebo covers a 10 x 10 sitting space and BBQ accented by a few hanging annual plants.

Yes, a white and Violet theme with the tulips.
So much to do. A fence to mend, hot water tank to replace, etc. My garden looks lousy now but I'm more excited about the results after another year or two.
