Good morning Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog!
Today we continue the adventure to discover the Vatican Gardens, or the Pope's residence, located in Vatican City (near Rome). In this post you can find the first part with all the preliminary information of my visit, in case you missed it.
Walking through the streets of the Gardens, it is impossible not to notice the presence of incredible biodiversity. The first trees you encounter are those linked to the tradition of the Bible. We have, for example, the olive tree and the laurel, both very important for the faithful. I was also lucky enough to find a couple of colorful parrots bathing in the fountain!
It's not just the Christian faithful who visit this place! In fact, I met pilgrims of different religions, numerous scholars of classical art and students passionate about botany. In short, the Vatican Gardens attract people from all over the world!
The multi-ethnic aspect of the Vatican Gardens is also reflected in its statues: there are works created in South America, Asia Minor and Northern Europe, given as gifts over the centuries to the various Popes who have succeeded one another in government. Even the Italian State has donated some works of inestimable value to the Vatican Gardens, as a sign of mutual respect between religion and secular civilization.
“A visit to the Vatican Gardens opens the mind and calms the heart”: I can only agree with this quote.

Buongiorno amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio Blog!
Oggi continuiamo l’avventura alla scoperta dei Giardini Vaticani, ovvero la dimora del Papa, localizzati a Città del Vaticano (vicino Roma). In questo post potete trovare la prima parte con tutte le informazioni preliminari della mia visita, nel caso ve lo foste perso.
Passeggiando tra le vie dei Giardini, è impossibile non notare la presenza di incredibile biodiversità. I primi alberi che si incontrano sono quelli legati alla tradizione della Bibbia. Abbiamo, per esempio, l’ulivo e l’alloro, entrambi molto importanti per i fedeli. Sono stata così fortunata anche da riuscire a trovare una coppia di pappagalli colorati che faceva il bagno nella fontana!
Non sono solo i fedeli di religione cristiana a visitare questo luogo! Infatti, ho incontrato pellegrini di religioni diverse, numerosi studiosi di arte classica e studenti appassionati di botanica. Insomma, i Giardini Vaticani attirano popoli da tutto il mondo!
L’aspetto multietnico dei Giardini Vaticani si riflette anche nelle sue statue: sono presenti opere realizzate in sud America, in Asia Minore e in Nord Europa, regalate nel corso dei secoli ai diversi Papi che si sono succeduti nel governo. Persino lo Stato Italiano ha donato alcune opere di valore inestimabile ai Giardini Vaticani, in segno di rispetto reciproco tra religione e civiltà laica.
“La visita ai Giardini Vaticani apre la mente e rasserena il cuore”: non posso che trovarmi d’accordo con questa citazione.
