Greetings friends lovers of yarn and needles, I wish you a happy day together with your loved ones, a new week in progress and several projects to complete, this time I share the development of a strawberry pot holder inspired by Dragon Whelp, taking as reference the red and green colors of this delicious fruit, widely used in baking and preparation of various dishes and drinks.
Saludos amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas, les deseo un feliz día en unión de sus seres queridos, una nueva semana en curso y varios proyectos por culminar, en esta ocasión comparto la elaboración de una fresa agarra ollas inspirada en Dragon Whelp, tomando como referencia los colores rojo y verde de esta deliciosa fruta, muy usada en repostería y preparación de diversos platillos y bebidas.
The materials used were:
Polar blanket fabric (red and green)
Scissors
Sponge
Wadding
Pins
Mold
Sewing machine.
Los materiales usados fueron:
Tela manta polar (roja y verde)

The first step is to mark the pieces of the strawberry; leaves in green fabric and body in red fabric.
El primer paso es marcar las piezas de la fresa; hojas en tela verde y cuerpo en tela roja.
Then I faced the fabrics of the leaves on the right side, pinned and sewed all around the contour following the line of the mold.
Luego enfrenté por el derecho las telas de las hojas, sujeté con alfileres y cosí por todo el contorno siguiendo la línea del molde.
Once the piece was sewn, I removed the excess fabric and made an opening in the back to flip it over, I also made picks in the corners to achieve a better finish when flipping; with the help of a toothpick I removed the tips of the leaves.
Ya cosida la pieza retiré el exceso de tela e hice una abertura en la parte trasera para voltear, también hice piquetes en las esquinas para lograr un mejor acabado al voltear; con ayuda de un palillo de altura saqué las puntas de las hojas.
To make the strawberry I faced the fabric on the right side and placed the wadding underneath, pinned and sewed all the way around, removed the excess fabric and also made a small opening at the top for turning.
Para hacer la fresa enfrenté por el derecho la tela y coloqué debajo la guata, sujeté con alfileres y cosí todo el contorno, retiré el exceso de tela y también hice una pequeña abertura en la parte superior para voltear.
I carefully flipped the burr over, then closed the opening with a hidden stitch and placed a ribbon that will serve as a hanging loop.
Con mucho cuidado volteé la fresa, luego cerré la abertura con puntada escondida y coloqué una cinta que servirá de colgadero.
On top of the ribbon I placed the leaf, pinned it and sewed with a straight stitch, this is how a nice pot holder inspired by Dragon Whelp is finished.
Encima de la cinta puse la hoja sujeté con alfileres y cosí con puntada recta, así y en pocos pasos está terminado un lindo agarra ollas inspirado en Dragón Whelp.
Pot holders are useful and practical in the kitchen; as they protect your hands when handling hot pots, it is also a simple project to make, a way to use scraps and ideal as a gift for friends.
Los agarra ollas son útiles y prácticos en la cocina; ya que protegen las manos al manipular ollas calientes, además es un proyecto sencillo de hacer, una forma de aprovechar los retales e ideal como regalo para los amigos.
