You know dear friends, I got hooked on recycling aluminum rings and crochet knitting. Today I come to share this tutorial of a cute and simple owl 🦉. I took this one from a YouTube video, I liked it so much that now I want to share on #Needleworkmonday the step by step.

Saben queridos amigos, quedé enganchada con el reciclaje de anillas de aluminio y el tejido crochet. Hoy vengo a compartir este tutorial de un lindo y sencillo búho 🦉. Este lo he tomado de un video de YouTube, me gustó tanto que ahora quiero compartir en #Needleworkmonday el paso a paso.

Step by step//Paso a paso

Materials//Materiales:

05 aluminum rings.
Apple green, white, vinotint, pink, blue and orange wick yarn.
Crochet needle No. 2
10 movable eyes.
05 key rings.

05 anillas de aluminio.

Hilo pabilo color verde manzana, blanco, vinotinto, rosado, azul y naranja.

Aguja crochet N.º 2

10 ojos movibles.

05 Llaveros.

Abbreviations//Abreviaciones:

Ch: chain(s).
mp: half point.
mpa: half high point.
aum: increases.
pa: high point.
pr: slipped stitch.

Ch: cadena(s).
mp: medio punto.
mpa: medio punto alto.
aum: aumento.
pa: punto alto.
pr: punto deslizado.

Process//Proceso:

Body.

v1: In the ring we insert the green thread in the larger side we make 20 mp, in the small side 16 mp and pr.
v2: 3 mp, 5 chs, pr, 5 mp, 5 chs, pr, 3 mp.
v3: Then we make in the large ring 2 increases in each stitch.
v4: When only the large ring is covered, then we make a turn and repeat 1mp, 1ch, skip one space, 1 mp, 1 ch, skip one space, repeat sequence for the entire large ring.

Beak.

In the video the peak was made separately and was sticking. Instead in the central part I knit directly the beak inserting 30cm of yellow yarn we make 5 mp, turn knit, 3 mp, turn 2 mp, turn 1 mp, hide yarn.

Cuerpo.

v1: En la anilla insertamos el hilo color verde en el lado mas grande hacemos 20 mp, en la pequeña 16 mp y pr.

v2: 3 mp, 5 chs, pr, 5 mp, 5 chs, pr, 3 mp.

v3: Luego hacemos en la anilla grande 2 aum en cada punto.

v4: Al cubrir solo el anillo grande , entonces hacemos un giro y repetimos 1mp, 1ch, saltar un espacio, 1 mp, 1 ch, saltar un espacio repetir secuencia por toda la anilla grande.

Pico.

En el video el pico se hizo aparte y se pegaba. En cambio en la parte central teji directamente el pico insertando 30cm de hilo color amarillo hacemos 5 mp, girar tejido, 3 mp, girar 2 mp, girar 1 mp, ocultar hilo.

Assembly//Ensamblado:

To the beak we add glue and shrink it a little, to give it more shape.
Then we glue with liquid silicone the two movable eyes, in this case.
Insert the keychain in the upper part of the owl.
We pack it in little bags.

Al pico le agregamos pega y encogemos un poco, para darle más forma.

Luego pegamos con silicona líquida los dos ojitos movibles, en este caso.

Insertamos el llavero en la parte superior del búho.

Lo empacamos en bolsitas.

They turned out so cute, I liked them so much and they are very easy, and the best thing is that I am recycling, since I am passionate about the three R's, (reuse, recycle and reduce). By using an aluminum ring we are giving it a new use, thus reducing a material that was going to the trash.

Quedaron tan lindos, me gustó tanto y son muy fáciles, y lo mejor que estoy reciclando, ya que soy una apasionada de las tres R, (reusar, reciclar y reducir ♻). Al usar una anilla de aluminio y le estamos dando un nuevo uso, por tanto, reduciendo un material que iba a la basura.

This owl 🦉 is ideal for use as a keychain, to place on bags or backpacks as an ornament, and as this can be considered as an amulet.

También podemos usarlo como marca libro si les agregamos una tira tejida de 25 cm terminando con una borla. Ahí les dejo las opciones que quieran usar.
