🇪🇸 ~ Un recurso crafteril 10/10 para expresar y embellecer es el bordado de lentejuelas: Existen infinitas combinaciones y configuraciones por la cantidad de técnicas y orden/cantidad y posición en que puedes coser estas pequeñas joyas. Nunca es tarde para aprender, esta es un material atemporal y realmente llamativo.

It's never too late to learn, this is a timeless and really eye-catching material.
Muy pronto debo hacer un bordado bastante grande y aún no decido los materiales y estilo, por eso esta semana he hecho una pequeña practica condensando lo mejor de la experiencia para mostrar el paso a paso de forma resumida, centrando la atención en el resultado de cada sección de la figura escogida; ¡créeme!, esta técnica define muy bien el "confía en el proceso", es dificil tenerle fé a medio camino porque no se ve muy bonito, aunque al final sí te recompensa totalmente el esfuerzo y la paciencia 😊 ✌ 💕
Very soon I have to do a quite big embroidery and I still haven't decided the materials and style, that's why this week I have made a little practice condensing the best of the experience to show the step by step in a summarized way, focusing the attention on the result of each section of the chosen figure; believe me!, this technique defines very well the “trust the process”, it is hard to have faith in it half way through because it doesn't look very pretty, although in the end it does totally reward you for your effort and patience 😊 ✌ 💕
✦ In my original idea I was going to install some bells and whistles around the eye, and although I discarded that idea, you are free to place whatever you want at the end of your design ✦
🔴 📝 Los materiales y herramientas que necesitaras para elaborar este bordado son: Aguja de velo de novia, fieltro o tela de jean, hilos de distintos colores, tijera, lentejuelas de distintos colores, mostacillas de distintos colores, tambor o marco para bordar de no menos 20 cm de diámetro, y un circulo de papel del tamaño que tu quieras, yo utilice una guía de 8,5 cm.
🔵 📝 The materials and tools you will need to make this embroidery are: Bride veil needle, felt or jean fabric, threads of different colors, scissors, sequins of different colors, beads of different colors, embroidery drum or frame of at least 20 cm in diameter, and a paper circle of the size you want, I used a guide of 8.5 cm.
📌 PASO 1: Coloca la tela que has escogido en tu tambor de costura y asegúrala bien pero no demasiado tensa. Dibuja el circulo guía sobre la tela, y comienza a coser las lentejuelas asegurándolas de retorno con una mostacilla del mismo color. El orden de la puntada es, trae la aguja cargada con doble hilo desde la parte inferior de la tela, coloca una lentejuela y despues una mostacilla, trata que la lentejuela este en el lugar donde quieres que quede instalada, y regresa la aguja por el orificio de la lentejuela. Para instalar la siguiente, saca la aguja a través de la tela de nuevo, pero a unos 3 milímetros del borde de la lentejuela que ya fijaste. Repite el proceso siguiendo la linea que dibujaste.
📍 STEP 1: Place the fabric you have chosen on your sewing hoop and secure it tightly but not too tightly. Draw the guide circle on the fabric, and start sewing the sequins securing them back with a bead of the same color. The stitch order is, bring the needle loaded with double thread from the bottom of the fabric, place a sequin and then a bead, try to get the sequin where you want it to be installed, and return the needle through the sequin hole. To install the next one, pull the needle through the fabric again, but about 3 millimeters from the edge of the sequin you already attached. Repeat the process following the line you drew.
📌 PASO 2: Repite el proceso 3 veces siguiendo la curva del circulo hacia dentro. Es importante no apretar demasiado el hilo porque la tensión se ira acumulando y cuando estes finalizando la figura vas a notar que la tela estará retorcida y con bultos.
📍 STEP 2: Repeat the process 3 times following the curve of the circle inward. It is important not to tighten the thread too much because the tension will build up and when you are finishing the figure you will notice that the fabric will be twisted and lumpy.
📌 PASO 3: Carga la aguja con hilo color blanco, y pasa al siguiente color. Repetirás el paso número uno, pero esta vez serán solo 2 veces -es decir dos vueltas, o dos círculos- Notaras en esta etapa que la curva entre cada lentejuela se vuelve más aguja, cose despacio y con calma para no perder la secuencia.
📍 STEP 3: Load the needle with white thread, and move on to the next color. You will repeat step number one, but this time it will be only 2 times - that is two rounds, or two circles - you will notice at this stage that the curve between each sequin becomes more needle-like, sew slowly and calmly so as not to lose the sequence.
✦ The center for my taste would be prettier with a dark colored glass imitation applique, but I ran out of them, so I had to use black beads ✦
📌 PASO 4 (FINAL): Cambia de nuevo el hilo a color celeste o azul claro, y repite el proceso del paso número uno pero con la siguiente elección de color de lentejuelas. Dos círculos serán suficiente, y el espacio que quedan en medio, llénalo bordando cuentas color oscuro con puntada básica. Haz un nudo final de seguridad, ¡y listo! ✅ ✨
📍 STEP 4 (FINAL): Change the thread back to light blue or light blue, and repeat the process of step one but with the next choice of sequin color. Two circles will be enough, and the space in between, fill it by embroidering dark colored beads with basic stitch. Tie a final safety knot, and you're done! ✅ ✨
