Overview

The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁

This week the ruleset is the Healed Out, which means that all healing abilities are removed.

This applies to summoners as well. Healing abilities include Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage.

The upcoming Battle ruleset

RulesetDescription
EqualizerThe initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
Healed OutAll healing abilities are removed.
Even StevensOnly Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle was 43, which is enough to pick my suitable strategy for the upcoming battle. The Equalizer ruleset will allow me to use low health monsters, because they will have the same amount of health like the highest monster on the battlefield.

The health increase usually result longer battles especially using monsters with the Heal and Triage abilities, but luckily this time this not going to possible, because the Healed Out ruleset will eliminate that.

The Even Stevens ruleset will allow the use only the Even mana cost monsters, so it is important to pick a Splinter who has amazing Even mana cost monsters. 😊

My lineup

image.png
Possibilus the Wise is an excellent Water Summoner and his only weakness is his mana cost, which is six. He gives +2 health to all of his monsters plus the Trample and Reach ability, which will allow him to create amazing melee attack combinations. 😉
The Diemonshark cost 8 mana, which is quite a lot, but in return he has a lot of speed, armor and health. Sadly he doesn't have any defensive capabilities apart from his high speed, but he has a lot of attack damage, which will be further boosted if he is damaged using his Enrage ability. 😊

The Coastal Sentry is the perfect pair with Possibilus, because she will receive the Reach ability, which will enable her to attack from the second position as a melee attacker. She also has the Double Strike ability, so she will be able to attack twice in every round. 😇
The Djinn Oshannus will be my third tank if my damage dealers front of him are gone, because he also has high speed and quite protected against any kind of magic attack. He also has three melee attack damage, which is perfect to kill any enemy monster. 😁

The Deeplurker naturally has the Opportunity ability, which means that he will always target the loeset health monster on the battlefield and if he is lucky he might Poison his target as well. 😌
Igor Darkspear is a super low mana cost ranged attack monster who has two attack damage for only two mana as long as the enemy team is not going to reduce that. His main role in my battle if his Stun ability, because if he manages to trigger that on their target they will skip their turn completely. 💪

The Xenith Archer is also a cheap ranged attack monster, but she doesn't have any kind of abilities apart from the one from her Summoner. Still any extra damage she makes might help a lot in a long battle like this one. 😌

My opponent brought Possibilus the Wise as well, because I think for the Even Stevens ruleset the Water Splinter has one of the best monsters.

The Retaliate ability on our Diemonshark is a very important ability and most of the times it decides easily who is going to win the battle, because the trigger rate of that is 50%. What it means is that a monster with the Retaliate ability will be able to get an extra attack back to their melee attacker if he is able to trigger his ability.

In the first round not much happened apart from the fact that my Diemonshark took some serious damage, because all the enemy monsters attacked him. Sadly the Retaliate ability triggered on their Diemonshark in the second round and because he killed mine with his free attack he also got another free attack from his Trample ability as well. (That is why this ability combination is so powerful and it is very hard to do anything about it as it is purely luck based!)

In the second round my team finally killed their Wave Brood, so they could start to focus on their Diemonshark, but one very important thing also happened, because thanks to Possibilus my Deeplurker who killed their Wave Brood got an extra attack from his Trample ability, which resulted his Doctor Blight to be Poisoned. (This will be a very important factor for the end of the battle.) 🤞

I was unlucky again in the end of the second round, because my Sentry attacked their Diemonshark and he gota free attack again killing my Sentry and Trample my Djinn Oshannus. Luckily my Djinn had the Force Field ability, which means that any attack higher or equal with five will damage only one.

Even their Blight managed to hit my Djinn even thought he had the Phase ability as well, which means that he might be able to use his Speed to dodge any magic attack and my opponent got lucky again to hit him and on top of that Poison him. 😊

Things were not looking good at the moment and all the 'luck' and 'odds' was against my team.

In the third round my team finally killed their Diemonshark and luckily my Igor managed to Stun their Coastal Sentry, so she skipped her attack completely.

In the fifth round my Deeplurker finally killed their Sentry and got an extra attack against their Deeplurker and even managed to Posion it and my Igor to Stun him.

At the end of the round only my Xenith Archer left on my side of the battlefield versus their Docto Blight which battle would be very one sided, but luckily at the beginning of the battle my Deeplurker Poisoned him, so he took two damage at the end of every round, so even my Archer managed to 'kill' him. 😇

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My opponent had similar strategy like me, but he tried to divert some of my damage into his Wave Brood, which is a nice idea, but this game looked like a huge casino game with all the luck being involved, but at least luck factor was on my side at the end of the battle.

It was a long fight, because of the Equalizer ruleset, but imagine if it would allow to heal as well. 😅
