Am I missing something here?

When I first saw this, I thought “Oh wow, new products!”

Costco recently has taken the precious metals market by storm.

They were selling gold coins and bars like crazy setting records. I would then notice in their warehouses silver bars for sale.

It did not take long for their bars and coins to hit their online website.

Costco thought, must have a manual price feed.

Some places their cost for an item fluctuates with the spot price.

Costco seems like has someone behind the screen pulling the levers, and sometimes they are snoozing on the job leaving the price as is while spot is shooting up.

In this case, we have around 32 Troy ozs of silver here, which should cost around $1,600ish per their rate of other silver products. This is way off price.

Or am I missing something here?

Fellow stackers, if there’s something I should know about these types of coins let me know, or if you think its a rip off share what you think.

I just hope one day they accidentally missing a digit and we end up getting some gold for $250 without anyone noticing haha

Very low mintage I think.

I guess that’ll explain the premium, rarity

It’s a collector coin not bullion. The premium is the premium. Check your other dealers and see what they are charging for the same coin. I bet it’s much higher.

That's one hell of premium... I hate high premiums! Costco selling precious metals was a brilliant move, but I guarantee they don't have just one person making the price adjustments. It probably goes through three people before it gets published!

Yeah I prefer it that way VS having the price tied to the spot price fluctuating every few minutes.

Leaves open the opportunity for human error in a good way :)
