Open Genie is live official release now offering assistance to the Hive community in fulfilling their wishes!
In order to further support the community, we've put together a step by step tutorial on how to utilize Open Genie, whether you're seeking a genie or aiming to be one.
Seeking a Genie?
Seeking for a genie to fulfill your wishes is easy.
Step 1: Visit the Make a Wish section
First, login to the Open Genie platform and navigate to the Make a Wish tab to access the interface where you can input the details of your wish.
Step 2: Provide details of your wish
Within the make a wish tab, you will find fields such as Wish Title, Description, Thumbnail, and Payment (can be bids or specified HIVE/HBD). Fill in these details, ensuring that your wish is described comprehensively to aid interested genies in understanding it.
You may also choose to include tags to help improve the searchability of your wish.
Note: If you wish to complete your wish description later, you can save it as a draft by clicking the Save draft button.
Once you've filled in your wish details, click Create Wish to publish it. Now, you'll need to wait for genies from the Hive community to respond or ask questions about your wish.
If you wish to make revisions to your wish, click on the Gear icon beside the Wish Info header.
Step 3: Manage your wish status: Assign genie or close wish
To update the status of your wish, click the Seeking a Genie button in the wish info section.
Upon clicking, you can either assign a genie from the list of interested users or retract your wish.
Want to become a Genie?
If you are looking to fulfill the wishes of the Hive community, this section is for you! Similar to making a wish, looking for wishes to fulfill is also easy and can be done in few steps as illustrated below.
Step 1: Go to Wishes tab and read through the list of wishes
Navigate the wishes section by clicking on the Wishes tab to browse through a list of wishes.
Upon redirection, you will see the list of wishes that you might be interested to fulfill.
To make your life a lot easier, don't forget to use filters to narrow down your search.
For example, if we are just interested in wishes related to programming, we can filter it based on that. The wish list that we have to go through is just these three instead of going through a lot of wishes that we are not interested in fulfilling.
Step 2: Review Wish Details
From the list of programming wishes above, we are for example interested in Hive-Engine API Development. All we have to do is to click on that to see the additional information about the wish that the creator added.
Now we can see more information about the wish. In this case, these are the exact details and scope for this Hive-Engine API Development project.
Step 3: Express interest or Ask questions
Let's say you are interested in fulfilling the wish or you have clarifications. All you have to do is click on the Express Interest or Ask Questions under Wish Status then this pop-up will show.
Simply input what you want to say to the creator in the field (whether to express interest or ask a question) then click Submit. Note that your comment on the wish will be publicly visible.
At this point, you and the wish creator will continue the discussion if there are other information needed. If the wish creator chooses to assign you as the genie for their wish, you will be notified accordingly.
Tip: be notified!
Don't forget to join us at Open Genie Community. At first login on the Open Genie platform you'll be prompted to subscribe to our community.
