Dave the Diver is one of the highest-rated indie titles to release in recent memory. It has been available on PC for a while now but has finally made its way to PlayStation. This title was a Day 1 release on the PS Plus game catalog. After all of the hype surrounding it, I knew I had to give it a try.
Dave the Diver is a casual, single-player adventure RPG featuring deep-sea exploration and fishing during the day and sushi restaurant management at night. Join Dave and his quirky friends as they seek to uncover the secrets of the mysterious Blue Hole.
I've heard that the game is both humorous and oddly addicting. I love the ocean and comedy, plus I saw a talking dolphin in one of the trailers. This seems right up my alley. The only thing that didn't sound very exciting to me was the restaurant management portion of the game. I didn't let that stop me from jumping into this one with a positive mindset.
This game somehow has a 90 on Metacritic, which is no easy feat at all. That alone should tell you it's going to be worth playing for some people. Not everyone will be able to get into this style of game, however.
Although I was initially hesitant about this game, I still think that you will see why this game is beloved so much in my gameplay video below

I underestimated how much I was going to love this game. I quickly became wrapped up in the day and night cycle of fishing and managing the sushi restaurant.
