Mechwarrior in Web3?
Wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich ein großer Battletech und Mechwarrior Fan bin.
Ich habe so ziemlich jeden Mechwarrior Teil gespielt. Auch Mechwarrior Online (MWO) habe ich lange gespielt und den einen oder anderen € dort "investiert". Schade, dass ich an dieses Investment nicht mehr rankomme, ohne z.B. den ganzen Account zu verkaufen.
Das ist einer der Gründe, warum ich Web3 spiele so interessant finde. Zumindest, wenn die Economy nicht darauf basiert, dass man erstmal tausende von $ investieren muss, um spielen zu dürfen und der Output nur darauf basiert dass ständig neue Spieler dazu kommen.
Metalcore kann man spielen, ohne vorher auch nur einen € investieren zu müssen. Es gibt eine NFT Serie, die man kaufen kann und die auch Vorteile im anstehenden Token Airdrop bringt, aber das ist keine Pflicht.
Mechwarrior in Web3?
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a big Battletech and Mechwarrior fan.
I've played pretty much every Mechwarrior game. I also played Mechwarrior Online (MWO) for a long time and "invested" the odd € there. It's a shame that I can no longer access this investment without selling my entire account, for example.
That's one of the reasons why I find Web3 games so interesting. At least if the economy is not based on the fact that you have to invest thousands of dollars in order to be allowed to play and the output is only based on the fact that new players are constantly joining.
Metalcore can be played without having to invest a single €. There is an NFT series that you can buy and that also brings advantages in the upcoming token airdrop, but this is not mandatory.
Was ist Metalcore?
Metalcore ist ein Mech Looter/Shooter auf der Immutable Blockchain, der sich derzeit in der Closed Beta befindet.
Ihr startet als kleiner Infanterist und lernt im Tutorial, wie ihr eure ersten Panzer zerstört, dessen Bauplan scannt und dann die Teile looted, um den Tank selbst zu bauen.
Mit dem Panzer geht ihr dann auf die Jagd nach größeren Zielen scannt diese Baupläne und versucht auch diese zu bauen. Für die größeren Mechs braucht ihr nicht nur eine Menge Module und Bauteile, sondern auch das entsprechende Level.
Für jeden Kill und für jede abgeschlossene Mission erhaltet ihr Erfahrungspunkte, und steigert so Stück für Stück eurer Level.
Neben dem Zugriff auf immer stärkere Panzer, Mechs und auch Flugzeuge, bringt Euch ein Level Up auch den Zugriff auf neue Infanterieklassen wie Medic, Sniper, oder Super Soldier.
Dies ist wichtig, für die Capture the Flag Modi, bei denen ihr Euch nicht nur im PVP mit anderen Mechs anlegt, sondern in den Bunkern auch Mann gegen Mann kämpft, um die Punkte einzunehmen.

What is Metalcore?
Metalcore is a mech looter/shooter on the Immutable Blockchain, which is currently in Closed Beta.
You start as a small infantryman and learn in the tutorial how to destroy your first tank, scan its blueprint and then loot the parts to build the tank yourself.
You then use the tank to hunt for larger targets, scan these blueprints and try to build them too. For the larger mechs, you not only need a lot of modules and components, but also the corresponding level.
You receive experience points for every kill and for every completed mission, thus increasing your level bit by bit.
In addition to access to ever more powerful tanks, mechs and aircraft, levelling up also gives you access to new infantry classes such as Medic, Sniper or Super Soldier.
This is important for the Capture the Flag modes, in which you not only take on other mechs in PVP, but also fight man-to-man in the bunkers to capture the points.

Was ist daran Web3?
Bis auf die Infanterie Genesis NFTs, die ihr z.B. auf Open Sea findet, ist derzeit noch nicht viel Web3 implementiert.

Nach Ende der Closed Beta soll der Token MCG eingeführt werden, für den es auch den Airdrop gibt. Mit dem Token können dann unter anderem die eigenen gecrafteten Fahrzeuge zu NFTs gemacht und dort aufgewertet werden.

What is Web3 about it?
Apart from the Infantry Genesis NFTs, which you can find on Open Sea, for example, there isn't much Web3 implemented at the moment.

After the end of the closed beta, the MCG token will be introduced, for which the airdrop is also available. The token can then be used, among other things, to turn your own scavenged vehicles into NFTs and upgrade them there.

Sagtest Du Airdrop?
Wie gesagt ist der MCG Token noch nicht erhältlich. Nach der Closed Beta wird ein sogenanntes Token Generation Event (TGE) stattfinden.
Beim TGE werden Marks, die Spieler während der Closed Beta erspielt haben, oder über Aufgaben bei Dequest erhalten haben, in MCG umgewandelt. Somit hat Metalcore zumindest derzeit auch einen Play2Earn / Play2Airdrop Komponente.

Für die Closed Beta benötigt ihr einen Game Key. Eine der ersten Aufgaben auf Dequest ist es, sich für die Closed Beta anzumelden. Metalcore haut derzeit jeden Tag Codes raus, so dass ihr zeitnah dabei sein solltet.
Ich habe auch noch einen Code verfügbar, den ich dem ersten der fragt, gerne zukommen lasse.
Im Spiel selbst habt ihr neben den "normalen" Missionen auch fünf tägliche Mission die neben XP auch Marks liefern. Ohne ein NFT sind dies 200 Marks pro Mission, also bis zu 1.000 Marks pro Tag. Mit einem Genesis NFT gibt es pro Mission deutlich mehr Marks.
Zusätzlich gibt es noch stündlich Capture the Flag Events und 4-6 mal am Tag Boss Monster Events. Die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an diesen Events gibt ebenfalls Marks.
Did you say Airdrop?
As I said, the MCG token is not yet available. After the Closed Beta, a so-called Token Generation Event (TGE) will take place.
During the TGE, Marks that players have earned during the Closed Beta or received via tasks in Dequest will be converted into MCG. This means that Metalcore also has a Play2Earn / Play2Airdrop component, at least for the time being.

You will need a game key for the closed beta. One of the first tasks on Dequest is to sign up for the closed beta. Metalcore is currently releasing codes every day, so you should be able to register soon.
I still have a code available, which I will be happy to send to the first person who asks.
In the game itself you have five daily missions in addition to the "normal" missions, which provide XP and Marks. Without an NFT, these are 200 Marks per mission, i.e. up to 1,000 Marks per day. With a Genesis NFT, there are significantly more Marks per mission.
In addition, there are Capture the Flag events every hour and Boss Monster events 4-6 times a day. Successful participation in these events also awards marks.
Mein Fazit
Metalcore ist noch sehr früh in der Entwicklung. Das Spiel macht auch ohne den Play2Airdrop Gedanken Spaß.
Vom Tellerwäscher (hier Infanterist) zum Besitzer eines ganzen Stalls von Panzern und Mechs ist hier alles mit eigenen Händen, ohne Investitionen möglich.
Das typische "nur noch diese eine Mission Gefühl" packt mich hier. Gestern habe ich meine ersten Mechs gecraftet und natürlich direkt ausprobiert.
Metalcore hält mich derzeit sogar davon ab, Seraph weiter zu spielen, wobei ich auch Diablo 2 super gerne gespielt habe.

My conclusion
Metalcore is still very early in its development. The game is fun even without the Play2Airdrop idea.
From dishwasher (here infantryman) to owner of a whole stable of tanks and mechs, everything is possible here with your own hands, without investment.
The typical "just this one more mission feeling" grips me here. Yesterday I crafted my first mechs and of course tried them out straight away.
Metalcore is even stopping me from playing Seraph at the moment, although I also really enjoyed playing Diablo 2.

Immutable und Ethereum Mainnet wird er verfügbar sein. Der Drop ist glaube ich auf Immutable. Müsste ich noch al schauen.
