We were praying for rain and wow, did we get it!

It has been blisteringly hot here in Krabi lately and the dogs have been struggling to stay cool. We work together with the monks at the temples we are involved in to provide as much relief as possible for the dogs and cats but mostly we just really wanted some shift in temperature to cool things off. We jokingly did a rain dance the other day and while it took several days, we really god some incredible rain. I would say a bit too much of it.

Did it cool things off? I would say yes. and the dogs at the temple at least for a little while got to splish splash around in puddles and have a good time with their wet fur. Of course the heat almost immediately came back but for about a day everyone got a dramatic change in temperature.

Since I was already there I thought this would be a great time to offload some treat foodstuffs that I had with me anyway. The doggos always appreciate this sort of thing, just like you would expect.

It was kind of funny that when the pack saw me pull up in my truck that many of them were on the other side of this temporary pond that had been formed. The ones that know that I come bearing gifts couldn't be asked to walk around it and instead took the shortest pathway right through the muck. They were very dirty by the time they got to the other side.

I hope that they have some way of getting clean because that can't be comfortable. I am sure that dog owners out there already know that dogs don't really mind being dirty, it is their owners that mind.

This is not related to dogs but have a look at that giant structure in the background. That is, I believe, called Stupa and it has been under construction for nearly 20 years. When it is completed at this snail's pace it will be the largest one of its sort in all of Thailand - or so I have been told.

So we did the rain dance and got a bit too much rain for our temple friends who are all red-colored now because of the mud. Good times!

We got a really huge rain up here in the north in the past couple of days as well. There must have been a massive storm that came through the entire country since our respective cities are quite far apart.

rain is something you pray for and then it comes in very large amounts!

I am sure with all the extra moisture the humidity rises which helps the parasites breed even more so your duties will only increase.

thankfully almost all of these animals are treated against parasites but you are correct. we would be worried about it if it were not for our preparations.

What a beautiful pictures I’ve seen today. The dogs are so adorable who enjoyed the mud and water.

they love the mud, that is fur sure

A good sign for you... May you keep getting what you want ☺️🍀
