Anger Woods

What motivates you? For me it's usually coffee and anger, which apparently is not the right answer in a job interview. And they say honesty is the best policy...

Got to be careful using anger for fuel, it can run a little hot. Actually it's more like nitrous, dump a little too much of that in your engine and you're liable to blow something up.

Pretty sure the cheat code for infinite anger is 'connect to the internet.' It's not even the internet's fault, it's just the means of transmission.

Had already picked out my flavor of the evening and started editing when I realized I was already at my limit. Never could do that with alcohol.

Learned long ago that the best thing to do in that situation is head for the woods. Works well for a wide range of situations actually. In this particular case it was the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.

Went hiking there the weekend before last but this thing kept trying to attack me anytime I came close to editing the photos. There was a snake involved too but it wasn't nearly as angry.

Gonna drain the swamp they said... That will likely make Mother Nature angry angrier. It's going to be interesting to see in the coming years how many of our 'great' ideas and feats of engineering turn out to be terrible in the long run. Looking at you Florida Man, would brush up on my grand theft boat skills if I was you.

Y'all know the old saying, "A bad day fishing is better than a good day withdrawing from heroin in jail." Goes double if you're in the woods. Hard to be mad when you're fighting with catfish.

If you ever find yourself getting overwhelmed with all the anger and nothing seems to help, don't despair! There's one treatment that is sure to help, so just give nihilism a try! Remember, on a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

On that note, time to fly!

Once I was asked to tell my favorite joke during a job interview. I absolutely panicked. There is no joke I love that is job appropriate and the rest I know are terribly unfunny. It was then I knew I wasn't getting this job.

Oh god, yeah there's no way I'd be getting that job either. My sense of humor tends towards the dark, put me on the spot like that and there's no way it's ending well. Heh, had one job where I made a joke about suing over a hostile work environment and the next thing I know we're all in a staff meeting with HR.

Anger is an Energy - John Lydon (old fart test)

Ha, somehow I'd not encountered that before. Speaking of old farts, I think I'd have a lot more respect for him if he hadn't become one.

Idk what's worse, an old fart or a fossilised teenager like Keith Richards

Lol, true, except I can relate to Keith Richards much more readily :D

I didn't get it a bit. but that doesn't really matter. It makes me angry when I see the bad things that happen around us and there is practically nothing one can do about it. When collections of all citizens must be organized for sick children, for their treatment, and useless bosses can afford absolutely everything

These days it seems we're constantly assailed by the bad things, I was just rambling about putting the anger from that to use and also not letting it eat you up at the same time.

Time to seize the means of production, da?

Have you seen how ducks look after their eggs? Surely it makes them angry when they break (nothing... I think I'd better go to sleep).

And that wooden character in the swamp is great!

Congratulations on third place in the Monomad. 😇

I've came across a duck's nest with eggs in it at least once but I've not seen how the ducks themselves act. I'd imagine so, or maybe they have so many so they don't have to worry about it?

There's actually three of them scattered around Bernheim, they're all by a Dutch artist who's name escapes me currently. Definitely something to see.

Thank you!

Hahaha...just kidding about the ducks.

Thank you!

Anger is not a good advisor, I think that's what the old people around here would say, the best thing is to know how to channel it and if art helps you, I think you are a great winner, congratulations on your photos, they are good!

Yeah, anger is really good at bad advice. Gets me out the door and doing stuff though. Thank you!

Love this shots Jethro! Trees in the water is fantastic!

Yay! There's just something about cypress swamps, they're amazing and make for fun photos :D

I was very surprised to see that sculpture there... it reminded me of the story of the daffodil

Good shoots man!

Bernheim is really good about collaborating with artists, there's actually quite a bit of art there. There's actually three of those sculptures there, you can see a bit more about them here.

Thank you!

It's a very nice place. The photo of the trees in the water is very good.

Hard to beat a cypress swamp. Thank you :)
