LANDING IN VIENNA ✈️

Hello dear friends,
I landed in Vienna a week ago, and took some pictures from the sky given the beautiful weather.
There were beautiful clouds and also a spectacular landscape with rivers, fields and forests, as you can see in the pictures below 🤩

sono atterrata a Vienna una settimana fa, e ho scattato qualche immagine dal cielo visto il bellissimo tempo che faceva.
C' erano delle nuvole stupende e un paesaggio altrettanto spettacolare con fiumi, campi e boschi, come potete vedere nelle immagini sottostanti 🤩

Is it true that people feel weightless whenever the plane is ascending or descending?
I’ve never been on a plane before though

This happens only when are turbulences or wind, sometimes you feel a second like you are falling, than you feel weightless 😁

I experienced a heavy turbulence once (not the usual one you get most times when you fly) - I wrote that in a separate comment before I saw your answer. It was more than just a second. There was no warning, the plane just dropped a few hundred feet. Created a big mess in the cabin.

I can't believe there are peeps that never been on a plane.
When I was young, I wanted to be a pilot. That is why I joined the air force back then. But a inner ear problem got me grounded. There went my dream.

Always a cool sight out the window. When I lived in Canada, the route to Europe went over the Arctic. The vastness of the landscape is breathtaking. You fly for several hours over an uninhabited expanse of ice.
Someone asks if you feel weightless when ascending/descending. Well, not really. But in turbulence it is almost possible. I remember flying to Mallorca once, and hitting a sudden disturbance when the plane dropped quite sharply. Everyone was screaming, and I was drinking coffee, and the coffee flew out of my cup like a ball of liquid that I had to catch.

I was meaning little turbolences, not your horror stories 🤣

Happened to me just once, but that was enough. It made me calm about all the other times.
