Definition of Energy Systems
Brief note
Energy systems are systems or installations made up of a series of individual machines that have the purpose of carrying out an energy transfer or an energy conversion.
We can also use other words by saying that the energy system usually refers to the set of energy production or transformation processes.
What is an energy system
An energy system transfers or converts energy and can be a single machine that has a specific function (internal combustion engine, gas turbines) or a set of machines that have a global effect different from that of the individual machines (gas turbine plants, steam powered)
Difference between a device and a system?
As we have said, a device, such as a combustion engine, is considered an energy system but is not decomposable, that is, if it is decomposed it completely loses its characteristic of an energy system. A plant, on the other hand, is a set of many machines that can be considered energy systems, but which when combined produce a different result from each of the individual components of the plant itself.
Energy systems
Energy systems can be systems that have processes in which fluids are involved, that is, where fluids are the main actors in the transformation process.
The processes that can be carried out in energy systems
Below are some examples of energy systems with the process they can achieve..
-Turbines, where the conversion of fluid energy into mechanical energy takes place.
-Pumps, where the conversion of mechanical energy into energy possessed by a fluid takes place.
-Heat exchangers, in which the transmission of heat from one fluid to another occurs.
-Internal combustion engines where the transformation of the chemical energy of fuels into mechanical energy takes place.
-Refrigeration unit, where the transfer of heat from a source at a lower temperature to a higher temperature occurs through work.
Other energy systems (not related to the use of fluids)
-Electrical machines, transmission parts, mechanical processing
Processes that take place in these latter energy systems
-Electric machines, in which the transformation of mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa takes place.
-Transmission organs, in which the transmission of mechanical energy takes place

Breve cenno
I sistemi energetici sono impianti o installazioni costituiti da una serie di singole macchine che hanno lo scopo di realizzare un trasferimento di energia oppure una conversione di energia.
Possiamo usare anche altre parole dicendo che con sistema energetico di solito si indica l'insieme dei processi di produzione o trasformazione di energia.
Cos’è un sistema energetico
Un sistema energetico trasferisce o converte energia e può essere un singolo macchinario che ha una specifica funzione (motore a combustione interna, turbine a gas) oppure un insieme di macchinari che hanno un effetto globale diverso da quello delle singole macchine (impianti a turbogas, impianti a vapore)
Differenza fra un apparecchio ed un impianto?
Come abbiamo detto un apparecchio, come ad esempio un motore a combustione, è considerato un sistema energetico ma non è scomponibile, cioè, se viene scomposto perde totalmente la sua caratteristica di sistema energetico. Un impianto invece è un insieme di tanti macchinari che possono essere considerati dei sistemi energetici, ma che uniti producono un risultato diverso da ognuno dei singoli componenti dell’impianto stesso.
I sistemi energetici
I sistemi energetici, possono essere degli impianti che hanno dei processi in cui vengono coinvolti i fluidi, cioè dove i fluidi sono gli attori principali del processo di trasformazione.
I processi che si possono realizzare nei sistemi energetici
Qui di seguito alcuni esempi di sistemi energetici con il processo che riescono a realizzare..
-Turbine, dove avviene la conversione dell’energia del fluido in energia meccanica.
-Pompe, dove avviene la conversione di energia meccanica in energia posseduta da un fluido.
-Scambiatori di calore, in cui avviene la trasmissione di calore da un fluido ad un altro.
-Motori a combustione interna dove avviene la trasformazione dell’energia chimica dei combustibili in energia meccanica.
-Gruppo frigorifero, dove tramite del lavoro avviene il trasferimento di calore da una sorgente a temperatura inferiore ad una superiore.
Altri sistemi energetici (non collegati all’utilizzo di fluidi)
-Macchine elettriche, Organi di trasmissione, lavorazioni meccaniche
Processi che si realizzano in questi ultimi sistemi energetici
-Macchine elettriche, nelle quali avviene la trasformazione dell’energia meccanica in energia elettrica e viceversa.
-Organi di trasmissione, nei quali avviene la trasmissione di energia meccanica
Conclusioni
I sistemi energetici sono impianti o installazioni che hanno lo scopo di realizzare un trasferimento o una trasformazione di energia.
