The 100-Day Project, Day 77 & 78: Back to a More Normal Schedule - Almost!

in GEMS25 days ago

Welcome to day 78 of the 100-Day Project!

Now that our first event of the season is over and pretty much put to rest, I can get back to a more normal schedule. Still combining two days' worth of work towards the 100-Day Project into a single post.

Part of the display at this weekend's event

At this point, our next event is scheduled for the weekend of the summer solstice and will be a three day affair at a local spiritual center. But that remains about six weeks away, and there's lots to be done between now and then!

Most of yesterday and today was given over to getting unpacked and organized from the trip.

When we get to breaking down at the end of a show, it is almost inevitable that some things get packed away hurriedly and into the wrong places.

If there is one thing we have learned from experience it is that it is much better to tidy and organize things right after a show than wait to deal with them when you're frantically trying to get ready for the next event.

This time things were not terribly messy because we had plenty of time, but there were still a few misplaced items. In this case, I am only talking about booth fixtures, signage and display materials.

Next step is getting the inventory back under control.

That means pulling all the stones out of the travel bins and "sorting" them according to which online sales venue they belong to: Etsy, eBay, Amazon or Facebook.

Each of these has its own bin of inventory so it's easy for me to find the appropriate stone if something sells. That also helps me when putting things away after a show, where everything gets mixed together, in the interest of making an attractive presentation.

And if you're wondering how I am able to tell them apart, it's easy enough because each price tag is written in a unique different color corresponding to the sales venue: blue for eBay, purple for Etsy, green for Amazon, etc.

Then I get to go through the somewhat tedious process of removing every sold item from listed inventory, so there's no chance we end up "double selling" anything.

Creating the spiral... (from yesterday)

Day 77-78 Stone Painting:

I had a couple of nice stones I didn't have time to paint before the show; these intended for spiral designs. So I started on the larger on yesterday, and got it finished this evening.

It's a color set I haven't used much, but I think it turned out quite well:

Still not back on track with doing social media stuff... maybe tomorrow! For now, this is all...

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!
