RE: Creating a Culture of Abundance on the blockchain.

I hear your excitement on printing money out of thin air. The reality is that people are willing to buy Hive to give themselves a stake, which gives value to the coin. If no one was willing to buy it, it would be worthless. Most of us who contribute here believe that we are creating value with our content. I have spent thousands of real US dollars to buy Hive, power it up, and lease it out. My vote isn't worth much, but my HP is worth it to other to borrow it at a cost. Otherwise, my posts gain the coin. I haven't decided yet on how much coin I want to stake before I cash out half the time. I feel like posting here forces my creative juices to flow and I know that some day, my children will find my posts and learn from them. It's a piece of me that will stay behind...forever ish.

It feels like printing money out of thin air...but we are all producing-upvoting is a product of your reading a post and announcing the value you feel it has. Making a post adds value. Adding a comment adds value. There is a Hive store which allows you to buy products with Hive...the bigger it gets, the more valuable Hive becomes. There's a lot at work here. We will all look back on this experiment and see how it enriched us or how it was a fun fling while it lasted. When the internet came out, I found many "Get Paid to Be Online" websites. I ran many of their ads on my screen and referred a ton more. I made thousands on it. They're nowhere to be seen now. We'll see where the people migrate to. POB is still an infant. The "whales" are still minnows. Even the alpha man is a minnow. The nice thing about that is we are early enough in the game to get into the 1% club...by the way, the 1% club will always exist. You can never destroy it, because it is a statistical/mathematical club. The only way to destroy it is to make everyone share everything so that no one person has more or less than another. That will never take place because the moment someone figures out how to produce more/better than others, they immediately separate themselves from the rest and become the 1% again. Never fear/hate/loathe/worship the 1%...it's just another human who put forth work in a way you and the rest of us didn't think of doing...yet. There is still a churn, so keep trying.

Good post, by the way. I like how it was lain out and the points were interesting to read...quite positive in the forward thinking, I'd say.

Thank you for the comment. Yes, the "system" that creates value is far more complicated than my article let on. My sentiment is that the vast majority of people do the same thing on facebook and give all of the value of them being on social media to a billion dollar corporation. We do the same thing, and get paid for it.

We are still very early in all of this, Hive, POB, even BTC. There are many ways that it can go, but I do feel that the real projects will be so entrenched that they will be around. Will the Hive token go up??? That I cannot tell you. I would like to think that the fact that it is superior tech to almost any other blockchain means that it is only a matter of time... but, who knows?

Ya, 1% will always be there. Hopefully the number that is in the 1% can grow a little bit. In legacy system there are very few that control almost everything. I think, even though things are very skewed here it is likely a little bit more spread out. I could be wrong.

Thanks again for the awesome comment!

I have the same sentiment about Facebook. I'd much rather receive the value of my content than to give it away freely to someone else who sells it. I wish I could put an ad on my posts for perpetual earning. If everyone was allowed one ad, we'd be able to earn from our posts indefinitely.
