Parenting is such that parents give up their dreams most times just because they want the best for their children. 90% of parents do take lots of risk for their children.

Talking about children been saddled with the responsibility of taking care of their aging parents. What is my take on that? We need to first of all consider the risk that parents took for the sake of their children. I have seen a woman who died just to make sure that her children are doing well. Same with fathers. No love can be compared to that of the parents sacrificing everything for their children.

I am not of the opinion that parents should be looking up to their children to take care of them when they are old. But that is what it is. No child will be wealthy and not think of how to make life better for their parents. Even when a child is not told by the parents yet the child still know that it is the right thing to do. It will be seen as I responsibility on the child side when the parents are old and the child can not lift a finger to help them. Except for few parents, I hardly see parents that keep insisting that the children must take care of them when they are old. It just happens naturally that children knows that it is their responsibility.

MY PLANS FOR MYSELF WHEN I GET OLD.
I know that I have tried for my children, and will not stop as long as I still have life in me. But I am not in anyway waiting for them to carry all my responsibilities. I have my plans already. After my schooling I plan on getting a very good paying job that won't stop me from hiving and from there make lots of money to make good investment. I really plan on having houses in different cities of Nigeria where I will have agents taking care of it and at the end of every month or year I will be receiving a good amount of money from my tenants. That I believe will help me when I become older and can't do much to make money for myself. Even when I have my plans, my children are such that once they have money with them they just think of their parents first. I don't know why it is so. My daughter who is still in school and will be finally done in a month sends me money for our up keep from the little business she does. I keep saying no don't worry about us we will be fine. Just take care of yourself on school, but she won't hear me. Most times when she calls her siblings to ask of us she will make sure to enquire if there is enough food at home, and once she hears anything that she don't like she will just send money to fix it. I don't even encourage her to do it, but she can't just won't stop. That is exactly what I am saying. No child in his or her right senses will have money and not think about the parents.

Conclusively, I will love to advice every parents to do the needful. Don't put all your hope on your children saying that when they make money the will take care of you. Prepare for your tomorrow. Do what you can do now so that when that day comes and the children did not remember, then you can fall back to what you have for yourself.
Thanks for reading.

Sometimes, life might not end the way we plan it and we are left with disappointment. Not majority of our parents had the privilege so many of us have now like making money with our smartphone during their time.

These parents really need that dependency because of lack of opportunities then but for the current parents, depending on our kids or future kids shouldn't be mandatory.

Your plans are alright and your daughter is trying. God bless her more to keep helping you.

90% of parents do take lots of risk for their children.

I'd say more than 90% of parents. I'm a parent and I can't even quantify how much I've given up in terms of finances, time and efforts to raise my kids. And they're not even grown yet.

<Prepare for your tomorrow.

This advice is essential. But then, it's mostly common amongst parents who never made enough money while they were young and agile. A very rich man will never depend on his kids for money.
