The other day someone was arguing that of all the 6 classes of food, water is the most precious and important. I couldn't argue back because I knew how important water is to the human body. Personally, I practice staying hydrated at all times, as it makes me feel healthier and relaxed.

Many people regard water to be life, and that's because it has been scientifically proven that humans can stay up to a week without food and still survive, but an average human can barely survive 4 days without water.

Another interesting fact about water to a man's health is that more than 80% of the sickness in a man's body is as a result of what he has been drinking. So the big question here is what have we all been drinking? How clean is our water?

Even a blind man would agree that clean water is the best for our health, but sometimes due to poverty or a lack of better opportunity, we still see people drinking unhealthy water and encouraging themselves that nothing bad would happen.

While growing up, there's a local slogan we usually hear about bad water with an African man: "Bad water no dey kill African man". This means as an African man, unhealthy water can't do you any harm, but how true is this statement?

Today we see alot of water factories in our localities producing water mostly in bottles and sachets. I patronize most of these sachet water because they are cheap and very accessible. But the challenge is that in most cases I do not even care to know how these waters are processed, or which company is producing them.

Writing this blog post I just realized I have been taking a risk with my water health all along. Only waters from registered and recognized companies are safe to drink because such systems are governed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Unlike some private wells that are not guided by any governmental officials.

But even before I started patronizing these sachet and bottled waters, I had learned various methods of safeguarding my water, one of which is called the Filtration method. This method was what we came to meet our grandparents practicing.

They would go to the market and buy a particular kind of filter, sometimes they even go for the pitcher filter because by then it was used mainly to improve taste and reduce common contaminants in the river waters.

But in our world today, if you plan on adopting this filtration method, it's important you look for certifications from trusted organizations like NSF International, which indicate the material has been tested and confirmed effective.

Apart from this traditional filtration method, I would recommend we embrace the use of natural methods for better purification results as well. The one I have tried out on one or two occasions is the use of colloidal silver, which possesses antimicrobial properties capable of neutralizing bacteria and other pathogens in my water.

Another method I have tried out is the boiling method, which represents one of the most oldest and reliable means of purifying our water. Right from my primary school days, I have been trying out this boiling method because it was recommended to eliminating pathogens by subjecting them to high temperatures.

I have experienced the dangers of drinking unclean water because there was one time I was seriously ill and I was even admitted to the hospital, the doctor was majorly concerned about the type of water I had been drinking.
Prevention of bad water is the key for us to stay healthier and that's why we should be cautious about the purification process of the water we are drinking.

Sometimes it won't be out of place to buy water testing equipments that can be able to detect the quality percent of a gallon of water.

Lastly, I would equally advise that we should always go for clean, and high quality glass cups when drinking water, because most of these kinds of cups do not add chemicals into our water, unlike some plastic cups which can easily absorb stains and bacteria into our water.

I appreciate your time around here❤️:-)

Drinking clean is essential for our health, but sadly i known some areas in my country, where the people doesn't have access to clean water, they drink the water gathered in the ponds for weeks. they are helpless and government doesn't care about it. it's painful.

It's really sad boss, we are also facing the same challenge in some part of my country. We hope things get better real soon.
