The little girl left me speechless.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Growing up in a neighborhood where kids feel like you are a grown-up uncle automatically, you know it all has landed a lot of people in trouble. In my neighborhood, it is like a duty for the elders to put the little ones through whatever it is that they do not understand. Sometimes this task can be tedious, stressful, and very annoying as you get to meet kids who, no matter how many times you explain a particular thing, will never understand it. Sometimes you use different illustrations to make the explanation clear, only for them to still not get it. This makes it tiring, and sometimes you want to run away whenever you see them coming with their assignments or a notebook. Once you see them coming with a notebook in their hand, you just know trouble is coming.

This task has also made me cross paths with a lot of bright kids, kids that you don't need to stress yourself too much with. Just one simple explanation, and they already get everything you are talking about. It is this experience that made me understand why teachers love bright students. To be honest, teaching a bright student makes one happy as well as being a lot less stressful compared to teaching a student who needs a lot of explanations and illustrations before they get to understand what you are talking about.

I hate teaching, but my neighbor's kids did not want to hear that at all. Whenever they have an assignment, you will definitely hear them knock, and there is no way you get to escape them. If you manage to escape them during the day, they will still attack you at night, so instead of dodging, just help them get it done. I started teaching by force, and their parents gave me their support. One Tuesday evening, they came to me with a friend called Aisha. While I was teaching, Aisha wouldn't even let me arrive at the answer, and she got it already. She was faster than the others and had a better understanding of all the subjects even mathematics, mathematics is a subject almost every student fear but Aisha at the age of 10 said mathematics is her best subject.

With mathematics as her best subject, I already knew she was a bright student, and she proved it with every given opportunity. I was impressed and really happy they brought her with them; it made the job easier. She became like an assistant to me; if the rest don't understand, I will always tell them to turn to her, so she will explain in a language and in a way they will all understand and follow. She never stopped coming; she became a part of the group and wouldn't miss a day. For her sake, I started enjoying the tutorship with them and always looked forward to seeing them every evening.

One day she did confirm that she was made up of entirely different stuff; they were given an assignment on quantitative reasoning, and my neighbor's children gave theirs to me to help them get answers but she came with hers already done. When they presented the assignment to me, to be honest, I couldn't grasp what it was about or what was expected of me, but this little girl, despite being shy, was able to explain in her own little way until I understood a little. I kept looking at her in awe, like, how was she able to understand when the others did not even have an idea? The encounter with Aisha made me realise that, some kids have their intelligence inbuilt and just needs grooming and coaching.

Thanks for reading my post.

Some people (including children) have a knack for learning in different areas. But it's impressive to see how some children can grasp certain things so easily. There are children who are 'born ready'.

Yeah nowadays kids are more smart than us.
