A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially to those who every week share their beautiful rides and adventures in this great community. This time I will tell you about the ride we had today and share with you some pictures so you can have a friendly approach to the whole place. Our visit was to the Recreational Park "La Laguna de Capacho". Its name comes from the fact that it is located in the community of Capacho Nuevo and literally has a large lagoon.
Capacho Nuevo is a beautiful Andean town located in the Independencia municipality about 9 kilometers from the capital of the state of Tachira, Venezuela. It is characterized by its beautiful landscapes, its cool climate, its deeply religious traditions and its rich craftsmanship and culture. It is one of the places in our region where clay is processed for handicrafts in clay or different soft fibers for weaving baskets, hats, mats, among other things. In addition to different crops among which stands out the tasty pineapple, one of the sweetest in the whole country.
A few months ago we were passing through there, when we visited the Cristo Rey monument. This time my dear @aly.squid and I visited its most famous park. It used to be a zoo, but for ethical reasons it was not allowed to keep animals locked up, much less if their purpose was the exhibition and not the preservation of their lives. So since a few years ago it is only a recreational park. They still keep some animals but only domestic ones, such as chickens, turtles and rabbits.
The most attractive of the place is its freshness and the beautiful lagoon in the center of the park. Where the sun is reflected every sunset and gives us a spectacle of lights in movement by the small ripples that the wind produces on the water and the lauric shadows that are projected from the trees. In the lagoon live some water turtles and also a species of small crocodile known locally as "Babo".
We were there for about an hour, walked the length of the park, but it is not very big and there is little to do. Besides a small playground and some exercise bars the park doesn't have much to offer in the way of entertainment. It is simply enjoying the peace and natural beauty, a passive form of recreation guaranteed, since it is forbidden to consume alcohol or smoke.
We left there quite hungry, and entered a rich hot dog shop called Nixon Burger. It was our first time there, but it looked cozy so we took a chance. The experience was delicious, we had a hot dog each, a soda, a side of fries and paid $5.
The truth is that this was a beautiful ride, we enjoyed it very much. The ride to Capacho was very pleasant, although due to the humidity it is a road that historically has had many problems, so we had to take a detour to get there and also on the way back. Although we also enjoyed the ride through the community of Zorca.

Parque recreacional "La Laguna de Capacho" Un paseo memorable (Ingles/Español)
Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive, especialmente a quienes cada semana comparten sus hermosos paseos y aventuras en esta grandiosa comunidad. En esta ocasión les contare acerca del paseo que tuvimos el día de hoy además de compartirles varias fotos para que tengan un acercamiento amigable por todo el lugar. Nuestra visita fue para el Parque Recreacional “La Laguna de Capacho”. Su nombre se debe a que está ubicado en la comunidad de Capacho Nuevo y literalmente posee una gran laguna.
Capacho nuevo es un hermoso pueblo andino ubicado en el municipio Independencia a unos 9 kilómetros de la capital del estado Táchira, Venezuela. Se caracteriza por sus hermosos paisajes, su clima fresco, sus tradiciones profundamente religiosas y su riqueza artesanal y cultural. Ya que es uno de los lugares de toda nuestra region donde se procesa la arcilla para las artesanías en barro o diferentes fibras blandas para el tejido de cestas, sombreros, esterillas, entre otras cosas. Además de diferentes cultivos entre los que destaca la sabrosa piña, unas de las más dulces en todo el país.
Hace unos meses estuvimos de paso por allí, cuando visitando en monumento al Cristo Rey. Esta vez mi querida @aly.squid y yo visitamos su parque más conocido. Anteriormente era un zoológico, pero por razones éticas no se permitió que siguieran animales encerrados, mucho menos si su finalidad era la exhibición y no la preservación de sus vidas. Así que desde hace unos años para acá es solo un parque recreacional. Aún conservan algunos animales pero únicamente domésticos, tales como gallinas, tortugas y conejos.
Lo más atractivo del lugar es su frescura y la bonita laguna que se encuentra en el centro del parque. Donde el sol se refleja cada atardecer y nos regala un espectáculo de luces en movimiento por las pequeñas ondulaciones que el viento produce sobre el agua y las sombras laurinas que se proyectan desde los árboles. En la laguna viven algunas tortugas de agua y también una especie de cocodrilo pequeñito conocido localmente como “Babo”.
Estuvimos allí aproximadamente una hora, caminamos a lo largo del parque, pero la verdad no es muy grande y hay pocas cosas para hacer. Además de un pequeñito parque infantil y unas barras para hacer ejercicio el parque no tiene mucho para ofrecer en cuanto a entretenimiento. Simplemente es disfrutar de la paz y la belleza natural, una forma pasiva de recreación garantizada, ya que el en lugar esta prohibido consumir alcohol o fumar.
Salimos de allí bastante hambrientas, y entramos a una rica venta de perros calientes llamada Nixon Burger. Era nuestra primera vez allí, pero se veía acogedor así que nos arriesgamos. La experiencia fue deliciosa, nos comimos un perro caliente cada una, un refresco, un servició de papas fritas y pagamos 5$.
La verdad este fue un paseo hermoso, lo disfrutamos muchísimo. El corrido para Capacho fue muy agradable, aunque por la humedad es una carretera que históricamente ha tenido muchos problemas, por lo que nos tocó que tomar un desvió para llegar y también de regreso. Aunque también disfrutamos ese recorrido por la comunidad de Zorca.
Sin duda es un paseo que volvería a realizar, ya que como lo dije antes Capacho es un pueblo muy tranquilo y su comida es muy económica y deliciosa.
