Yesterday, May 18, I had the opportunity to attend the 11th edition of Akiba Fest, an event designed to show the most outstanding of the world of manga and anime in this region. The Akiba Fest took place at the Centro Comercial Los Próceres in the city of Maracay, where I currently live. It was a quite sunny and hot day, but that did not prevent a large number of people to attend faithfully to have fun and to share common tastes. The event was outdoors and that allowed the breeze to flow freely, something that those of us who were there were very grateful for.
The good music, mainly conformed by the most representative openings and endings of the anime, provided a great atmosphere, but there was also K-Pop and of course those who are dedicated to dance this musical genre took the opportunity to show their talents. The main attractions were cosplay, contests and the special participation of Juan Guzman who is a Venezuelan voice actor who gives life to the voice of Rick from “Rick and Morty” for the Latin Spanish translation, among others.
Merchandise sales
Now, to show you the best of each space and attraction of the event, I will start with the sale of merchandise, an activity that is usually present in these events and that had a wide variety of t-shirts, stuffed animals, collectibles, toys, manga, pop material, among other very interesting things that attracted the attention of the attendees who were quite excited to buy. I must say that in this aspect there was plenty of merch for all tastes.
Juan Guzmán (Latin Spanish dubbing actor of Rick Sanchez from “Rick and Morty”)
One of the main attractions was the participation of Juan Guzman, who is famous for being the Latin Spanish dubbing actor of Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty), Patchy the Pirate (SpongeBob SquarePants), Alex Louis Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Jack (Samurai Jack), among other characters that can be found in his professional profile. His participation consisted of a show in which he animated the audience with his particular voice and other activities with which he connected quite well with the public. On the other hand, he was ready to sign autographs with his most loyal fans.
Cosplay
Now, from my point of view the main attraction was the attendance of cosplayers. There were many more than I expected and of very good quality, in addition, they were very willing to take pictures with the attendees who approached very often, but with much kindness they accepted the postcard. Next you will see a wide gallery of photos of which I must say that I don't know the totality of characters, maybe the most popular were the most recognized by me, but maybe you can find your favorite characters.
Spaces and assistants
As I already mentioned, the event was held outdoors under a blazing sun, but that didn't stop the attendees from enjoying the attractions and hanging out with their companions who looked very animated and happy to be there. In the following pictures you can see the different stands where merchandise, food, among other things were sold; you can also see the main stage where the cosplay parade took place.
So, it was a pleasure to share with this beloved community the highlights of the Akiba Fest which was held in my hometown. These events are not very frequent, so I did not hesitate to attend and take advantage of the experience. Hugs to all!

Ah que cool, seguramente coincidimos. Y si, estuvo muy bueno. Saludos!
Sii vale, las akibas son geniales, sería muy fino coincidir xd
I have never gone to one of these events, where we can see many cosplays. It's super interesting how people can show their creativity when designing their costumes.
Yes, they really have great creativity, we have to give them a standing ovation.
The event was very cool, here in Caracas sometimes they do this kind of things but very sporadic, something that is purely anime is complicated beyond the Comic Con.
I hope it comes like that here, maybe they have done it and I haven't heard about it haha but well. Very top the cosplay of the people, you can see that this culture is stronger than you think.
Greetings brother!
I was surprised by the fact that there were so many people with cosplay, I thought it would be a more discreet event. I'm glad to know that the movement is great and that hundreds of people were encouraged to attend. I hope you can go to an anime festival soon. Regards!
How amazing this event sounds! I loved the photos, you can tell there was a great variety of merchandise and fantastic cosplays. Glad you were able to enjoy yourself. I hope you were able to get some great stuff and had an amazing time surrounded by that community you love. wish they do more events like this! 🙌
Yes, there was all kinds of merchandise, and cosplayers abounded. It was a great day, I had a great time and I hope it happens again. Thanks for your support!
Wow Bro that's a photo gallery and they were brutal, plus the cosplays are amazing especially the level of detail of each one, those guys put a lot of heart to their outfits without a doubt.
There was too much to see, I loved the Demon Slayer figures and the Q-Posket figures which are some of the most famous in Japan right now for their variety in terms of anime. The shirts, the keychains, there are many things that I liked, as soon as I can I will bring what I have of Demon Slayer and Naruto to share with you.
The event had a lot of organization, you can tell just by looking at the pictures and each booth had very nice merchandise. I congratulate you for the audiovisual material and I'm glad you had a great time at the event. By the way, I have a question, that mall in which part of Maracay is Bro?
A big hug my brother, I really liked this post 🤜🤛.... You Fuc&%$ Rockkk!!! 👍😎🔥📸❤️
I took pictures of most of the cosplayers who were more than willing to share, that's why the gallery is so wide. And well, as you saw, there was very good merch. The place is the old IPSFA, I'm sure you know it.
We hope you can bring content to this community soon. Thanks a lot for your support! Regards!
Spectacular, how good that event looked, I loved the cosplays, starting with Kikyo's, I loved the detail of the soul in her shoulder haha it's great 😍 and the powerpuff girls haha that costume is brutal.
I saw a few little things that I would have taken home, but mainly from Sailor Moon, I still love her figures.
What a thrill to see Juan Guzman in person, I know him from the SpongeBob character and immediately recognized his voice.
There was a great variety of cosplays, many, most of them, I didn't recognize them, but the costumes were very well elaborated and with a lot of effort. I never went to one of these events, they were always far away, but I hope someday to be able to attend one ❤️
There was a lot to see and go through, good that you were able to attend and thanks for sharing a part of it here 🦉
I didn't recognize many of the cosplay characters either, what happens is that there are thousands of anime, so that makes the universe of characters impossible to recognize. And well, meeting Juan Guzman was interesting, I really didn't know anything about him.
All in all, it was a special day and I couldn't stop sharing it in this community. Greetings!
que genial! cómo me gustaría que acá en mi ciudad hubiera eventos así jeje, se ve todo fino!
How cool! I wish there were events like this here in my city hehe, everything looks great!
Sometimes they do these events in every city, but we don't hear about it, but hopefully they will do one in your city soon. Greetings!
sii Dios quiera jeje, saludos!
yes yes God willing hehe, greetings!
