5 minute freewrite 2374 prompt dry and warm

I had a miserable night trying to sleep last night, I had a lot of anxiety about what the doctor was going to say about my hand today. I think I fell asleep around 11:30 and was awake at 12:30, I fell back to sleep around 2 and up at 3, went to the bathroom at 4:30 slept for 30 minutes, and got up at 5:15. My dreams were crazy, the one that sticks in my mind was I was walking Rudy, he is my rabbit and a bobcat lunged for him, I stuck my arm between Rudy and the bobcat and the bobcat latched onto my arm where my elbow is located, I grabbed the bobcat by its jaw with my bad hand. I remember it hurting but I was not letting go. I looked at Rudy and he was lying on his side, I think he was dead but I woke up. I must have been squeezing my hand in my sleep because it was hurting.

I gave up on going back to sleep around 6 and drank a cup of coffee and sitting here drinking it, I could not get my mind to stop thinking about seeing the doctor today so around 7 I went outside and started pulling weeds, my back was still hurting from yesterday but I had to do something to keep my mind from thinking about things.

Around 9 we had a man come to buy areca palms from us, he bought 4 which was 100 dollars and he stayed and chatted so that helped me keep my mind off of things. After he left I went back to pulling weeds until it was time to go in and shower. After getting out of the shower I was dry and warm but my mind was racing. Now it was time to go see the doctor.

I only thought I had a lot on my mind before seeing the doctor but after seeing him, now I have a big lump in the pit of my stomach. He tells me the only option that I have is surgery and it will be nothing like what I thought it was going to be. I thought he would put some sort of "caulking" between my bones to keep them from rubbing together.

That is not his plan. He says he will take out 3 of my bones and put in what he called a cap, the three that are above my wrist. He says after 8 to 12 weeks I will be happy I had it done and for sure after a year, A YEAR THE MAN SAYS. I think I am in for a rough recovery. NOW THE LUMP IN MY STOMACH HAS GROWN 10 times bigger than last night. He is going to do this on May 31st. I hope I can get some sleep between now and then.
