A fantastic place for a date or for a family bonding experience, a girls day out, even a bachelorette party. This gem of a place is a great spot for any sort of event with people who enjoy art, good or bad. Visit The Pottery, order a milkshake or a coffee, grab your pottery item and favourite colours, sit back and have a fun therapeutic afternoon painting a pottery item that you get to keep for the rest of your life.
Even if you are not artistic or do not enjoy art or painting you are still welcome to pop by, they serve amazing coffee and some good food and you can browse their ready made items and restock your kitchen with handmade, hand-painted crockery items!
The day started with a blank, white mug and a jar of paintbrushes. We spent hours relaxing as a family and painting our own unique items, it was the best relaxing time, no stress and no pressure.
How amazing does that milkshake look? I love that they came in the old milkshake glasses, so cool!
The only part that I was not the biggest fan of was the fact that the waiter just brought us a few containers of paint colours, we could not choose the paint we actually wanted to use. They were also just ordinary paint colours, primary and secondary colours... whereas some places where you can paint your own pottery, there are thousands of colours to choose from, with different shades of each one.
I truly loved the vibe of the restaurant itself, there was good music playing softly in the background, the smell of coffee filling the air and tons of fun artworks and paintings scattered around. It was an incredibly creative spot full of fun inspiration.
My plain white mug was transformed into a daisy garden and bumble bee portrait.
A fantastic day out. The saddest part of doing the pottery painting is the fact that you spend hours painting your project and then leave the place without it, then wait a few weeks for it to be glazed and fired before you can pick it up. The best part is going to fetch it and it feeling like getting a gift.
All in all, so much fun... definitely want to do hundreds more!
