Hello friends of Hive, here I am finally after almost a month of absence, I was flooded with many things to do and to not miss anything the computer decided to abandon me.
But it doesn’t matter, little by little everything is fixed! Today I should continue with part 3 of my visit to the Expo, but on Sunday I went to visit a really beautiful place, for this reason of the Expo I will talk about it in the next post.
Ciao amici di Hive, eccomi finalmente dopo quasi un mese di assenza, sono stata sommersa da mille cose da fare e per non farsi mancare nulla il computer ha deciso di abbandonarmi.
Ma non importa, piano piano si sistema tutto! Oggi dovrei continuare con la parte 3 della mia visita all’Expo, ma domenica sono andata a visitare un posto veramente molto bello, per questo motivo dell’Expo parlerò nel prossimo post.
For the birthday of a dear friend of mine, we decided to go to Verona to visit a very special place ! Of course, she was in the dark about everything we were gonna do that day.
So we leave home around 14:30, it takes about 50 minutes to get to Verona, counting the traffic of a holiday much more! We parked the car, finding a parking lot in the university area, about 20 minutes from downtown around 16:20. We did a fast ride in the center because at 18:00 we had the entrance to this museum.
Per il compleanno di una mia cara amica, abbiamo deciso di andare a Verona per visitare un museo un po’ particolare ! Ovviamente lei era all’oscuro di tutto ciò che avremmo fatto quel giorno.
Quindi siamo partire da casa intorno alle 14 e 30, ci vogliono circa 50 minuti per arrivare a Verona, contando il traffico di un giorno festivo molto di più! Abbiamo parcheggiato la macchina, trovando un parcheggio in zona universitaria, a circa 20 minuti dal centro intorno alle 16:20. Abbiamo fatto un giro velocissime in centro perchè alle 18:00 avevamo l’ingresso in questo museo.
In the center there were many people, and even if Verona is my city of the heart, I must be honest, when it is so full of people it loses a little of its charm, because it is impossible to stop and see anything, you are constantly overwhelmed by the crowd that moves you in every direction.
As I told you before we did a fast ride in the center, we passed by Piazza Erbe, the famous square in which there is this stable market every day, we took a street parallel to Via Mazzini to avoid the crowd and we passed through Porta Borsari, one of the ancient gates to the Roman city, we finally arrived in Piazza Bra, the most famous square in Verona, the one where the Arena is located.
In centro c’era moltissima gente, e anche se Verona è la mia città del cuore, devo essere sincera, quando è così piena di gente perde un po’ del suo fascino, perchè risulta impossibile fermarsi a vedere qualsiasi cosa, si viene travolti continuamente dalla folla che ti sposta in ogni direzione.
Come vi ho detto già prima abbiamo fatto un giro velocissime in centro, siamo passati da piazza Erbe, la famosa piazza nella quale c’è questo mercato stabile tutti i giorni, abbiamo preso una via parallela rispetto a via Mazzini per evitare la folla e siamo passate per porta Borsari, una delle antiche porte di accesso alla città romana, siamo infine giunte in Piazza Bra, la piazza più famosa di Verona, quella in cui si trova l’Arena.
After our fast ride in the center we ran to the car and headed to our destination: the CMV, namely the Children’s Museum Verona.
Born in a disused industrial area, the Ex Magazzini Generali in Verona, we wanted to do this urban redevelopment project, in my opinion very successful.
The Children’s Museum is a totally child-friendly museum, has been designed with various areas from 0-12 years and each area stimulates the curiosity of the child by making him interact with experiences of different types. It’s totally interactive and STEAM-themed ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). Obviously the child needs one or more escorts to help him in this learning process. The discovery of each area in fact happens together. My friends and I went with my one year old daughter. Our area was supposed to be 0-3, but actually she was attracted a lot more to areas of older age.
Zone 0-3 is one where there are some very simple tasks, like looking at a book, making simple joints or drawings on the board using ready-made prints.
Dopo il nostro velocissimo giro in centro siamo corse alla macchina e ci siamo dirette verso la nostra destinazione: il CMV, ossia il Children’s Museum Verona.
Nasce in una zona industriale dismessa, gli Ex Magazzini Generali di Verona, si è voluto fare questo progetto di riqualificazione urbanistica, a mio avviso molto ben riuscito.
Il Children’s Museum è un museo totalmente a misura di bambino, è stato progettato con varie zone da 0-12 anni e ogni varia area stimola la curiosità del bambino facendolo interagire con esperienze di tipo diverso. E’ totalmente interattivo e a tema STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). Ovviamente il bambino ha bisogno di uno o più accompagnatori che lo aiutino in questo processo di apprendimento. La scoperta di ogni area infatti avviene insieme. Io e le mie amiche siamo andate con mia figlia di un anno. La nostra area doveva essere quella di 0-3 ma in realtà lei è stata attratta molto più da zone con fascia di età maggiore.
La zona 0-3 è quella in cui ci sono alcune attività molto semplici, come guardare un libro, fare dei semplici incastri o dei disegni alla lavagna utilizzando delle stampe già pronte.
There was an area totally dedicated to construction, in which, with a helmet and reflective jacket, you could try your hand at building a house with real sponge bricks. Another blue area, called Big Blue Blocks , also dedicated to buildings, allows the child to use imagination to build all the time something new and completely different from the previous one.
At the center of the first large room there is an orange ball 6 meters high in which the base can be inserted balls that will then, through air, be pushed up and made to travel throughout the museum through suspended tracks. Consider that inside the museum there are about 150,000 balls. This is reminiscent of the goods that moved continuously inside the Ex Magazzini Generali.
C’era un'area totalmente dedicata alle costruzioni, in cui, con caschetto e casacca catarifrangente , potevi cimentarti nella costruzione di una casa con veri e propri mattoni in spugna. Un’ altra zona tutta blu, chiamata Big Blue Blocks , anche questa dedicata alle costruzioni, permette al bambino di utilizzare la fantasia per costruire tutte le volte un qualcosa di nuovo e completamente diverso dal precedente.
Al centro della prima grande stanza si trova una sfera di color arancione alta 6 metri nella quale base si possono inserire delle palline che poi verranno, tramite dell’aria, spinte in alto e fatte viaggiare per tutto il museo attraverso dei binari sospesi. Pensate che all’interno del museo girano circa 150.000 palline. Questo ricorda le merci che si spostavano continuamente all’interno degli Ex Magazzini Generali.
Another very interesting room is that of water in which the water cycle is perfectly explained. Children must then wear boots and waterproof suits and can enter this area and have fun creating water paths with special interlocking elements, or create magical giant bubbles.
Most of the time my daughter got lost in a tank containing lots of orange balls.
Inside the museum there is also a real beehive!
Altra stanza molto interessante è quella dell’acqua in cui viene spiegato perfettamente il ciclo dell’acqua. I bambini poi devono indossare degli stivaletti e delle tute impermeabili e possono entrare all’interno di questa zona e divertirsi a creare dei percorsi d’acqua con appositi elementi a incastro, oppure creare delle magiche bolle giganti.
Mia figlia per la maggior parte del tempo si è persa all’interno di una vasca contenente tantissime palline arancioni.
All’interno del museo è presente anche un vero e proprio alveare!
Then there was a room completely dedicated to lights and lights that could be created, another attraction of the museum was the Cow to be milked, a real reproduction of the true size of a cow with the possibility of milking it and letting out milk!
Obviously this museum is inspired by the thought of Maria Montessori " Help me do it alone", and the fact that the experience is an integral part of our life and our learning. I almost forgot, in the museum can use only socks , the shoes must be left outside in special boxes!

C’era poi una stanza completamente dedicata alle luci e ai giochi di luci che potevano essere creati, altra attrazione del museo è stata la Mucca da mungere, una vera e propria riproduzione a vere dimensioni di una mucca con la possibilità di mungerla e far uscire del latte!
Ovviamente questo museo si ispira al pensiero di Maria Montessori “ Aiutami a fare da solo”, e al fatto che l’esperienza forma parte integrante della nostra vita e del nostro apprendimento. Quasi dimenticavo, nel museo di entra in calze, le scarpe si devono lasciare all’esterno in appositi box!
